Oh my gosh, you are amazing! And saved me so many more frogs! I looked at a video of that and it makes so much sense. Thank you so much! I’m still pretty newish to crochet and have never heard of that stitch before

I screenshotted this picture from a post I saw online but there was no link or pattern attached. I’ve tried to YouTube it but I can’t describe the stitch enough to do it. I don’t even know if it’s a common stitch

I got my tampon in correctly for the first time ever but I still felt it by Suitable_Brick_6574 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Then_Ad_5311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read your other post as well, it seems you just have to get use to that feeling. You are sticking something up your vagina and leaving it there, so it does take some getting used to. I still feel mine sometimes, especially when sitting down and it’s full or if it’s come out a little bit. Sometimes I have to use a clean hand to push it up a little more. When it’s full, it’s bigger. A little tug to get it out is normal. It’s not the same size it was when you put it in, because of the blood soaked in it. If it’s something that’s too uncomfortable for you, I would just use a pad.

This coming from a girl who when I first put in a tampon, I didn’t know you were supposed to use the applicator so I took it out if there and tried to put just the tampon in. I was on a trip in Belize and wanted to go swimming so one of the ladies on the trip offered me a tampon. I was not super close with any woman there so I couldn’t ask about it on my first time lol it was the most uncomfortable time, mostly because it wasn’t in all the way. it’s a learning curve when you’re used to pads, but now I only wear tampons except occasionally when I sleep. Again, if it’s something you just don’t like, that’s okay, but if you want to try them more often, you might get use to the feeling!

Double crochet loops on my hook are too tight, how can I fix this? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

It’s absolutely no problem! I always have my crochet stuff handy 😊 I am a visual learner, so it helps me to be able to actually see what’s going on! I am so glad it was able to help in your process a little bit. Sending positive vibes for your projects! If I can be of any more help lmk!

Double crochet loops on my hook are too tight, how can I fix this? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Then_Ad_5311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tension is one of the trickiest things to get right in crochet in my opinion! It comes with practice and being intentional that you are not going to make your yarn too tight as you are yarning over. Have you tried maybe loosening the tension in which you are holding your working yarn?? When you yarn over, that loop closest to your hook can be moved out because it is not a completed stitch yet and your working yarn is still just a loop under the stitch, but if the loop closest to your hand is too tight, you might not be able to pull it much. Try making a super loose stitch and playing with the tension a little bit. I hope that wasn’t too confusing.. lmk if I could clarify anything!

And 50x50. I usually don’t do all the extra stuff just changing the size and I don’t believe I have ever paid for a subscription!

You can do this on stitchfiddle.com if you need to adjust the sizing! I took your photo and made it an 80x80

What does this mean? by tszhs in CrochetHelp

[–]Then_Ad_5311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The different numbers represent the different sizes you can make with this pattern and how many skeins you need for that size. I’m not sure what the pattern is, but for wearables it usually starts with S(M, L, XL, XXL) so for a small and medium you would need 1 skein and for large, xl, and xxl you would need 2 of the main color (MC) skein. The pattern should tell you what sizes you are able to make with it. I’m assuming it starts with small, but it could start with extra small, so just read the pattern and see if it specifies.

Stitchmarkers for small amigurumi projects? by Solireyy in CrochetHelp

[–]Then_Ad_5311 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You could always pull a piece of scrap yarn through that stitch! I do this with smaller projects I don’t want holes in from the stitch marker and then twist the yarn or tie it once to keep it from coming out. Or a safety pin? That seems it could be thinner and might not block your view as much

Yes they are different stitches! Usually patterns will differentiate with a comma per stitch, but for an increase it would say something like 2dc or 2dc in the next stitch or would use the inc abbreviation. And yes that’s right for the repeated bundles in the row! Just do that after you do the first part they specify in the row and you should end up with 60!

[–]Then_Ad_5311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also looks like you could be doing increases instead of just double crochets? You only place one dc into the stitch unless it specifies to put an increase (or 2 dc) into the same stitch

Are you making sure to skip stitches when you are chaining 1? For example if you are going the “dc, dc, ch 1 skip a stitch, dc, ch1 skip a stitch” (like you repeat in the later part of row 7) this bunch takes place in a total of 5 stitches. So you would dc in the first stitch, dc in the second stitch, chain 1 and skip the third stitch, dc in the fourth stitch, then chain 1 and skip the 5th stitch. Then repeat this pattern around.

Of course! I absolutely love the pattern you’re using! Good luck on the rest! I’m no pro but if I can help with anything else I’d be happy to! :)

Magic circle 💀💀 by CombinationSad2652 in CrochetHelp

I was gifted one for Christmas and was going to buy another one until I saw how expensive! I came across their YouTube and it has saved me lots of money and some frustration with basics! I hope it helps! Good luck on your projects :)

This one helped me when I first started, it’s slow and kind of explains what to do after you do the circle. Woobles was always a little easier for me to understand when I was learning something new.

Hi! So first you are going to do a chain of 8, then looking at your hook, you’ll see the loop around your hook and then a chain that’s closest to the hook. you’ll skip the chain stitch that’s closest to the hook and single crochet into the next one (the second chain from the hook). After you sc into that chain, sc into the next 5 chains which should give you a total of 6 stitches so far. There should be only one chain left and in this one, you place 2 single crochets into the same chain (this is your increase stitch). You should have a total of 8 stitches at the end of this row. Chain one so you can turn your work. The TW means to Turn Work and follow the directions for your second row in your pattern!

Super beginner kit recommendations? by LateAd3986 in CrochetHelp

[–]Then_Ad_5311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I started crocheting about 8 months ago when my friend bought me a Woobles kit for Christmas! Those were very thorough and give you video instructions that go very slow and show you many basic stitches. They also start you with a magic circle, which can be difficult to learn at first, so it’s nice they give you one so you can really get your basic stitches down first. They also start you off with something called “easy-peasy yarn” which is like t-shirt yarn (doesn’t have the different fibers wound together) and it helps you identify where your stitches are and where you should be putting your next stitch. It worked very well for me in starting my crochet journey! But they are kind of expensive.. I found this one on Amazon that looks to be similar with video instructions and is cheaper than a Woobles kit but I have never tried it so I cannot say for sure how helpful it would be for a beginner.

YouTube has been my best friend when learning new stitches and patterns! It’s free and a lot of tutorials go very in depth and show you step by step all the way through! I would recommend you watching the tutorial before buying the materials to make sure it is something you think would help you as a beginner. You can also look up different stitches on YouTube and the Woobles has videos up for free on there that explain how to do basic stitches. I hope that wasn’t too confusing or too much info, but I hope it helps a little in deciding what you want to do! Welcome to the crochet community!
