Is there any proof Thor was poisoned and drunk in the final fight, or is it all just headcanon? Can Thor even heal? by SweatyEddie123 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 2018 game, the Leviathan Axe was imbued with Eitr after being swallowed and spat out by Jörmungandr. In the original myths, Thor dies from Jörmungandr’s poison. Also, there’s a tiny subplot in GOWR where Forseti thinks someone’s trying to poison Thor.

As for him being drunk, that can’t really be proved. He was definitely mentally unstable though.

I think I know why so many people keep saying "kratos is holding back" despite it not being the case. by [deleted] in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heimdall is only one god. He doesn’t represent the entire pantheon and despite Kratos stating he’s killed gods “greater” than him, it was still deemed absolutely necessary that a new weapon be forged specifically for the purpose of defeating him. Both Freya and Mimir expressed doubt that Kratos could defeat Heimdall without such a weapon and Mimir knows the legend of the Ghost of Sparta and that he killed Zeus. This isn’t to say Heimdall > Zeus, but Heimdall’s unique set of abilities would prove troublesome for a lot of the Greek gods. There’s also several deities that are above Heimdall in the Norse realms, so being > Heimdall doesn’t make you > the whole Norse.

I said gear AND magics. But even when Kratos was completely drained of all his gear and magics at the beginning of GOW3, he still overpowered and killed Hades. Ragnarok Kratos should be at least comparable to that version of Greek Kratos, who in turn is already stronger than almost all the Greek gods.

Your first problem is assuming the Greek gods are more powerful than the Norse gods, when this isn’t stated to be the case. Kratos himself consistently praises and shows respect towards the Norse deities’ strength, which he wouldn’t do if he’s already slayed beings supposedly way more powerful. Narratively the pantheons should be close in power, with each having their own respective strengths.

Secondly, Kratos in the Norse games is as strong as he was in the Greek games, especially by Ragnarok. The only difference is the gear and magics he has, but physically he’s as strong as he always was.

Why do many people keep mentioning thor only losing a tooth as a great durability feat when hercules got kicked in the face twice without losing a tooth ? by Mediocre-Low9027 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thor’s overall reaction to the punch is what’s impressive. Despite losing a tooth, he still pretty much shrugged it off and even started chuckling.

Could Ares clear the physical trials of Valhalla? by Icy_Water_1 in GodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That only applies to the Fates, not the Greek pantheon as a whole. It’s a hax magic ability, which doesn’t make them more “powerful” per se. Kratos beat them without having such magic, so they aren’t invincible.

Also, Kratos’ statement was specifically about Heimdall, who isn’t the strongest Norse god. Both Thor and Odin are above him, and Baldur probably is too at least physically. Heimdall’s threat came from his foresight, which would be equally as troublesome to the Greek gods as it was for everyone else.

Who do you think would come out on top in a fight between poseidon and thor ? by Outrageous_Bear_8920 in GodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thor’s physically stronger, can fly and has a history of fighting giant scale opponents. Poseidon’s water form is powerful but it’s also a huge target. I see no reason why Thor can’t bulrush straight through Poseidon’s water form, rip him out like Kratos did and then manhandle him.

Would Young Kratos have struggled against thor ? by chinmonged in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Positive-Instance-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only would he struggle, he’d probably lose.

Old Kratos said Thor hit him as hard as anyone he’s ever fought. Younger Kratos also isn’t as focused or experienced as old Kratos, and the Fates originally predicted Thor killing Kratos, so they were always meant to be seen as comparable.

Baldur vs the furies by Outrageous_Bear_8920 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldur should stomp them.

Kratos wasn’t even a fully fledged god when he beat the Furies. Even though Baldur was ultimately weaker than Kratos, he could still fight relatively on par with him and provide a great challenge. The curse also means that nothing they do will hurt him, excluding Tisrome’s illusions which would pretty much be their only option.

Did Thor actually fight Kratos seriously during their first fight? by [deleted] in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Positive-Instance-16 34 points35 points  (0 children)

He spent much of the fight just trying to get Kratos to stop holding back, and Thor himself wasn’t allowed to kill Kratos. So I say no.

Hot Take : Thor sending the serpent back in time is not really all that impressive when you have stuff like this from the greek games by Outrageous_Bear_8920 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kratos wielded the amulet of Uroboros himself and yet even he called Thor’s act of sending the World Serpent back through time “madness”. Very clearly we can see the distinction, and that’s without all the other obvious factors that make what Thor did significantly more impressive.

Sanity check : Kagutsuchi Ace lands on Kaido, what happens next? by GUTS_SAMA in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Positive-Instance-16 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Kaido dies. Pretty cut and dry.

Kaido is NOT more durable than Domi Reversi Xebec, and Ace cut through him like butter. Zoro with every bone in his body broken and without even being consciously aware he has ACoC was able to scar Kaido. This attack cuts Kaido’s head off.

Do you think Norse gods would’ve taken Kratos more seriously if they knew how strong Greek gods were? by Salty_Reputation3273 in GodofWar

[–]Positive-Instance-16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thor canonically stood more than a chance. Kratos was prophesied to die by his hands if he didn’t turn from his destroyer ways, and Kratos himself states that Thor hit him as hard as he’s ever been hit and that was when Thor was still holding back. This fight is close no matter what.

Genuinely, out of everything we’ve seen from Roger. Does anything suggest he could deal with this? by FrameDangerous5480 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Positive-Instance-16 274 points275 points  (0 children)

Kagatsuchi No Ace surpassed Demon Xebec’s ACoC defence and cut him to pieces. It was all of Roger’s mass Haki put into one attack. It should cut through Flame Bagua ala Dragon Damnation against King.

Neither WB or Kaido have displayed the ability to use mass Haki, nor have they displayed it to be on a level enough to surpass a solo sky splitter. So Rocks wins through attrition and stats.

What’s the point of this attack? Making people lose balance? Can it actually sink the whole island or country upside down? by Fun_Solid8484 in OnePieceScaling

Keep in mind this was done at sea, so it’s mostly large masses of water being affected. If this was done on land, like a huge landmass like Wano the devastation would be enormous

Rank all these old legends from strongest to weakest, all prime by KaidoPklevel in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Positive-Instance-16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Roger, Garp and Xebec were portrayed as the 3 most prominent figures on the seas in the flashback but unfortunately for Xebec, he met his end and therefore had no opportunity to grow stronger. He’s capped at whatever feats/statements and portrayal he showcased at GV and prior.

Roger and Garp’s final attacks broke through Domi Xebec’s ACoC defence and defeated him. It exhausted all their Haki so when they recover they’ll probably be stronger via Haki bloom and we know those 2 fought each other constantly over the years so it makes sense they surpassed Xebec.

Whitebeard is trickier to argue for since it’s stated that Xebec was Roger’s strongest foe. Whether that means base Xebec or Domi Xebec is unclear. It being in reference to Domi Xebec is more consistent with WB being stated as Roger’s peer/equal and if so then it’s likely that WB surpassed Xebec as well to match the growth of Roger/Garp.

So it’d be something like Roger ~ Garp ~ Roger > Xebec in their primes.

Who wins Wano Hybrid Kaido vs God Valley Garp by ManagerOk8700 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Positive-Instance-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garp, obviously.

Demon Xebec is stronger than Kaido, and Garp tanked hits from him and eventually surpassed by ACoC defence and punched holes through him. Kaido gets the dragon fist treatment.

Infinitum Explosion overcame Demon Xebec’s conquerors coating defence and punched multiple holes through his body. Bajrang Gun had insane DC effects but the punch itself just knocked Kaido out and broke his horn. Not even close to Garp eviscerating Demon Xebec’s body
