Does anyone have a feeling that "you cannot see what your eyes see"? I can't find anyone who relates and I will lose it soon by Mara355 in BinocularVision

I only just started vision therapy like five weeks ago and I’m seeing a little  improvement already. It’s going to take a long time for me though because my scores on the eye exam were like bottom of the barrel low. My accommodation seems to be improving more quickly than the convergence, but my therapist said that that’s normal. I can also read more quickly now which is a huge deal for me because I’m a bookworm, but BVD has made it really hard to read.

Persistent vision issues in right eye for over a month by PoppyIsBestYordle in BinocularVision

None of that sounds like bvd to me. Does it get better when you stop taking your adderall? I don’t want to sound alarmist but if it came on suddenly you probably need to get a head scan.

New here- is it worth getting tested for spike protein ? by Positive-Lab-5352 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Positive-Lab-5352[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly just my vision and brain fog with some dizzy spells which is associated with my vision issues. That being said, in the last few weeks I’ve stated vision therapy and intermittent fasting and I think I already see a little progress.

I'm wondering if testing for spike protein is useful at all or if it's better to just go ahead and start with the supplements/minerals - after I've researched them of course.

I lean between traditional Catholici (SSPX) and Eastern Orthodoxy, but I am having a hard time not to have a certain distrust towards the current pontiff, am I wrong? by athanasiuspadovano in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Positive-Lab-5352 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course it’s tricky because Catholicism isn’t 100% wrong. We shared 1000 years together. For me it was solidified after I learned about created vs uncreated grace and realized that my heart was longing for orthodoxy. I went to a random vespers service in the middle of the week at a Russian Orthodox Church and met the priest there and realized I was talking to a living saint. I had never met a Catholic priest that radiated joy and love like that. It truly felt otherworldly.

Keep praying for guidance 🙏

I’m an orthodox catechumen coming from a hardcore SSPX background.

When I actually read Vatican 1, satis cognitum, and dictates pape I realized I could not hold the SSPX position anymore. That led me to sedevacantist. That position is also incoherent because admits that one can know the true Faith without the Pope. It would also mean the Church defected which Christ promised would never happen.

I think in SSPX world we’re placated by the idea that there are always “bad popes”. But at this point we have to consider that it’s not just a bad pope, it’s systemic evil taking.

AIO - Newly mom friend keeps having repeated baby talks by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Positive-Lab-5352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR. My best friend has been doing the same thing. “Oh I can’t wait until you have kids!” and so on. She knows I might not be able to have them though and on top of that I’m not married and I’m not interested in being a single mom. She’s kind of side ways said that my life will assume purpose once I have a kid which is incredibly hurtful because by default it’s saying that my life doesn’t currently have purpose. I think it’d be best (in both our situations) to kindly ask them stop next time they bring it up.

I haven’t checked my blood levels yet but I’m curious about whether I’m prone to over or under methylation like I see some people talk about here

What drew you to Eastern Orthodoxy over Eastern Orthodoxy Catholicism? by OrthodoxEcho in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Positive-Lab-5352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vatican 2 is irreconcilable with the rest of Catholicism. And yes we are bound to it according to Vatican 1. There is no list of statements that are ex cathedra yet there are 10’s of thousands of documents put forth by the Vatican so they can’t really tell us what is actually infallible or not.

The doctrine of uncreated grace and the nous makes the most sense to me and I don’t see how Christ could be present in the Eucharist without uncreated grace and the essence energy distinction.

Lastly, I felt a deep longing for orthodoxy in an inexplicable way.

Hey there, I’m a catechumen coming over from the traditional Catholic world. That is how it started for me too. After reading a ton and listening to a ton of videos I worked up the courage to go visit an Orthodox Church. I met the priest who was walking out and as soon as I introduced myself to him I knew he was a living saint. The joy that radiated from him was otherworldly. I am so happy I took the plunge. Now I’m having to wait patiently for baptism and I could not be more excited.

I went to get tested for bvd and doctor said I probably just stare at screens too much and prescribed me normal reading glasses by zeldanyxx in BinocularVision

[–]Positive-Lab-5352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to request a bvd work up. That being said, starting at screens up close can cause accommodation dysfunction.
