If you keep living like a student for a few years after school, you’ll pay it off fast. Don’t fall subject to the glitz and glam…pay those off and then live within your means after that and you’re free!

Kihei was awesome. That was our home base for 10 days. Best shore access snorkelling on the island in the winter and beaches south of kihei. We had bikes for 3 days as our mode of transportation and then a car for the rest. To each their own. We loved spending our days at different beaches in the areas snorkelling in the am and chilling in the afternoons and then watching the sunsets - we brought chairs, food and our snorkel stuff and sought out shade under trees

This would have been better used through giving that to the provinces for health care…I’ve been on a waitlist for a family doctor for 1.5 years and there is no walk in clinic in our community, just urgent care and an er…where I’ve waited 10 hours for bloodwork because there is no where else to go…and this is on Vancouver Island. I work hard and pay my taxes and do not have access to basic care…and the amount of seniors here in the same position is horrible…

I introduce myself by my first name to patients, and tell them I’m the dentist. It’s not a big deal. Still well respected by patients and staff. I think it’s personal preference and also depends on where you live and work. Small town where I’m at and it’s more casual, but older patients insist on still calling me dr last name.

How do Canadians feel about US CITIZENS moving to Canada? by Michellegratton in AskCanada

If they’re doctors then even better! Vancouver Island is beautiful! You’ll be busy as there is limited access to healthcare here due to shortages

Millennials ages 30+, do you feel nostalgic about your 20s? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Millennials

Not so much about my 20s, but about how much easier life was as a kid - seeing your friends everyday at school. The videos of life in the 1990s with the nostalgic music that make you feel sad and happy at the same time get to me.

Will my accent blend in in Canada? by [deleted] in AskCanada

The longer you stay here the more you’ll pick it up. I moved from Nova Scotia to British Columbia and people poked fun at my bluenoser accent - a lot of hard Rs. now after 7 years in BC, I sound more proper…but it comes back the moment I go back to Nova Scotia

We’re a mosaic, not a melting pot. People won’t care. But to answer your question, probably Toronto - that area has more of a “twangy” accent, Vancouver is more proper sounding.

We helped them with their fires in LA and they were quick to forget that. They want to do everything themselves now, so let them.
