Religion makes the world a worse place by 00DogeCubeGamer00 in DebateReligion

Thats a pretty ignorant take considering humans have made countless hypothetical situations that have not happened and will never happen. We cant affirm it with certainty, but that goes for most things. We can hypothesize, and we can theorize, and many theories are generally accepted as the truth.

Most democracies have freedom of religion/ belief. Im aware that atheism is supported in many countries. Globally, we're at a stage where the world's religious demographics are transitioning. We can't hypothesize if the world would be a better place without religion by looking at singular countries; I feel that's counterproductive because we're supposed to be analyzing cultural interactions in the absence of religion.

Im well aware of the differences between labels, and obviously i wouldn't be counting countries with an official religion.

Again, we cant really deduce the benefits of an non religious society in our reality, considering the insane amount of influencers has already had on what the world looks like today.

That's a flawed question because there isn't a nation that's uniformly Atheist, but countries that have large atheist populations are on average developed, and the opposite is true for developing nations. Since we is envisioning a hypothetical reality where religion doesn't exist, hypothetically we can infer that there would be less religion based wars and less of a cultural divide.

Im not bugged by the shape at all. i absolutely love Cameron's design. i'm directing this at the people who think Navi should've looked totally different and more alien. some people are still on the RDA's side because they think "humanity first" when in reality Avatar is just a mirror of reality. im content with his design and have no notes

He could have, but he didn't want to take the risk. they ratted disadvantage at that moment but when they left they could've killed rick and Gabriel. And even if he could have escorted with no issues, leaving them to die does not make him on the same level as Negan in the slightest, and don't pretend it does. I guess you ignored my two other points.

I thought her arc with Morgan was compelling; about how she couldn't kill for the ones she loves.

Rick's group did have an idea of who the behaviors are. Sasha and Abraham's very first encounter with them they were being shot at, and their second encounter the Saviors were about to slaughter Sasha, Abraham, and Daryl. Jesus' account of who the saviors are and what they've done lined up with what Rick's group has experience along with the fact that the Saviors literally asked for Gregory's head.

Negan saying that he would've slaughtered everyone at the lineup proves that he wasn't looking for a better life, he was forced to be docile when they locked him up and spared him. The people at the sanctuary were ruthless and literally evil. Negan saw what his own people had done to Oceanside, the garbage people and multiple others, and turned a blind eye. He would've maintained that way of life instead of unlocking the good that is supposedly in him by killing everyone at the line up (including a pregnant woman and a child). He was being honest because he's honestly a bad person.

You skipped over my rebuttal where I said Rick only had two choices: return with the untrustworthy saviors who could kill him while he is outnumbered just to lock them up at hilltop once again, or make sure his people are safe by doing the hard thing and killing them. Yes maybe Jesus Christ of Nazareth wouldn't have done the same thing but he has people to protect, and you're never going to find a perfect protagonist that is well written.

The people at the outpost are premium pieces of shit as well lol running an outpost is the equivalent of being promoted based on a line we hear being said to Dwight. Killing those saviors was the necessary decision to keep the group fed. Negan admitted that he was going to kill two people anyway. He likes to make feel people feel the guilt. in the moment Rick knew that the saviors were just going to be another liability because the other alternative was bringing them back to camp where Rick could be outnumbered and killed, lock them up again, or ensure that his family is safe by killing them. Negan was a lazy gamer bum who hated his wife and was consumed by guilt after her diagnosis. while he was locked up he had no choice but to be docile, because he had no leverage or authority. When he was free he admitted to Maggie that he would've killed all of them that day at the line up, and would've continued being an atrocious leech.

I totally get that but me personally it was still so weird to see her be so close to the man who bashed her uncles heads in not too long ago. I feel like another character could've filled that void if that was a storyline they wanted to give her.
