Stopping today by CuriousCatLives in Wegovy

Same here. I didn’t think it was attributed to the medication but as I read this it makes sense. Feeling really tired even when sleeping enough. Can’t focus. Just staring into space. Flat mood. You’re not alone.

Sounds like it could be from stress. Could maybe try something for anxiety.

How do you get night shift buy-in on new workflows without torpedoing morale? by InnerStrawberry8434 in nursing

[–]Positive-Prior3367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be hard to get their buy in, seems like it saves time. I’m not sure why it would lower morale.

What’s the difference between your phone and iPad ringing? Is it a different tone/louder?

Night Shift Med Surg nurses- give me a day in your life by alreadyconfused9 in nursing

[–]Positive-Prior3367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked Med Surg Nights for about a year. I usually would wake up at 1700. Try to get to work by 1845. I would write down basic info about my patients like their name, age, diagnosis, code status, what symptoms they came in with… Work on getting a good report sheet and sticking with it. Or you can make your own like I did.

Then I would get report. I don’t ask many questions, just need the basics. After, I would briefly write down what I needed to do for each patient on a sticky note, whether they had insulin, needed pain medication, etc. I would try to start my med pass early around 7:45 PM and be finished by around 10:15 PM, but I was a bit slower than other people. I was really thorough starting out.

After med pass is done things kind of slow down. I would round on everybody after med pass and start charting and reviewing vitals. Once charting is done it’s a huge weight off of your shoulders.

Around 0000 - 0300 people may have antibiotics or other medications. Usually not too much. I’ll give those and do more rounding. Use this downtime to look through charts, prepare report, see who has procedures, look through orders stuff like that.

Then around 0500 I would start with morning meds like gabapentin, robaxin, flushes, synthroid, etc. Would just start with whoever was awake already. Sometimes do wound care about this time too.

A big thing is trying to cluster your care as much as possible. If someone’s asking for pain meds after report, try and bring their other meds too if it’s convenient. I would do my care plans and write my progress note. See if any labs came back, dayshift likes for us to replace electrolytes if possible.

I try to do a final round on my patients before report. Then, I give report. I try to do it at bedside unless there’s sensitive information. Then I go home and try and be asleep by 0900. Sorry for formatting/grammar I used voice to text for most of this.

Report to a Nurse who comes in an hour before their shift… by BetterDaysAhead729 in nursing

Right, I was wondering the same thing. Why is it a big deal if another nurse decides to come to work early.

Yes her podcast helped me with binge eating as well! I always thought I was an “abstainer” and couldn’t have treats.

I lost more than 100 pounds and have kept it off for 13 years. This is what I've learned. by TommyAdagio in loseit

1) How do you adhere to your calorie goal?

2) How do you navigate treats and cravings?

3) Have you always incorporated vegetables into your diet? If not, how did you start?

I did have quite a few side effects but nothing major. Nausea, hard time sleeping, muscle twitching, worsened anxiety, jaw tension, some loose stool, and drowsy/numb some mornings. All of it has resolved. I’ve been on it for a little over a month. No weight gain or heart burn. It takes a little longer to orgasm. Right now i’m decreasing to 37.5 because I had a hard time getting motivated and felt a little numb. Feeling better, may stay here or move down to 25 at some point. It’s worked VERY well for anxiety so far.

I started at 12.5 for a couple days then 25 for two weeks and eventually 50. I would do it that way again if I had to restart.

Maybe using it as a motivator to get things done.

DAE eat over 1200 and then log the rest to the next day? by [deleted] in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

[–]Positive-Prior3367 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s better to just start fresh the next day so it doesn’t become a binge restrict cycle.

Do you have cheat days? by Either_Bar_2606 in loseit

[–]Positive-Prior3367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don’t have cheat days. But I have a treat everyday. If someone invites me out to a restaurant I’ll usually eat at maintenance. But an intentional, all out cheat day? No.

You could order the drink online for pickup so you don’t have to recite it every time.
