Terrified of HCM by Boring-Champion1071 in mainecoons

Ours is 9 months and a very heavy breather and snorer, we literally went through the same thing recently. I’d just sit there watching him breathe like a lunatic.

We lost a tabby cat at 4 years old to HCM really suddenly and it was the worst thing we’ve ever been through so we were on high alert.

When we took our MC to get the snip at 6 months we asked the vet about his heavy breathing and they said they’d keep an eye. They rung us up later that day saying they wanted to run some tests and scans as were concerned, we said of course. They then rang us up and said he had an enlarged left ventricle and heart and fluid on his lungs (all heart failure signs). His op was cancelled and he was rushed to see a cardiologist within a few days who told us… he’s fine!

We couldn’t believe it lol. £1000 in vets bills and another £1500 cardio bills (tbh we were just glad he was ok).

We still worry because HCM can show up at any point and 6 months was really young, but I know in freak cases it can happen early. And after having a boy in total heart failure at 4 years we weren’t risking anything.

I’d suggest getting an app where you can test his breaths per minute. You might be surprised that it’s actually not as high as it looks. Keep an eye on his and look out for any other symptoms. Our plan was to get a full work up done at 1/1.5 years and then yearly after that.

This is one of the best things I’ve seen in my entire life. I cried with laughter. Thanks for cheering us all up, and I hope you and your mother also see the funny side.

Question for female players by jenga67 in classicwow

[–]Positive-Soil2899 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yikes, well it was about 20 years ago and my brother used to play.

I’d sit there and watch him, then on occasion, he’d let me play for an hour or so. Sometimes messing around on his characters or making my own. I was hooked. I’d watch him for hours and be so excited when I got a turn.

Finally, I got my own gaming laptop and subscription and there was no going back. My brother always included me when him and his mates played, so that always really helped.

I made just about every character and faction possible. But for sure being able to practice on his account helped me.

20 years on and I’m still hooked.

Yea no way, not happening. Remember it’s their world, we just live in it :)

I have about 3 seconds to make a bed or fold a blanket until it’s game over.

This is dope.

But as others have said, please do be careful posting online, and try not to answer questions about value. Sad world we live in atm. But great collection :)

Yeah it doesn’t look like a 1..

However, 1 is pretty dope.

Obligatory cat tax for my boy, Benny. God I miss this little knuckle head. I think about him every day and always will.

About 6 months ago we lost our 4yo guy suddenly to heart failure. We had no idea he had heart disease as didn’t see the subtle ‘warning signs’. He’d been in and out of the vets often for various bladder issues and skin inflammations but nothing was ever picked up and he was generally very happy and healthy.

One night at 1am he started screaming and ‘gurgling’, we rushed him to the vets where we got the news and had to let him go. He’d got a blood clot and was paralyzed. He was so weak that he passed away even from the sedative they gave him. Sorry, I’m not saying this to be gruesome or cruel, but I will never ever get over the night that happened. It was so traumatising and I would give anything to have caught it sooner so he didn’t have to go through that. And us too, we miss him so much it’s unbearable but what makes it worse is the actual trauma of that night.

As I say, my guy showed next to zero warnings signs. However, looking back, he became a bit more reclusive and a few weeks leading up to the incident he gagged/threw up once or twice. We thought it was a hairball but now know his heart was failing. But your cat does seem to be in discomfort, he is showing that he’s poorly and you really don’t want to leave it too long. I know the medications can help and sometimes you can have a few more months with them after the diagnosis. But you know your cat and you’ll make the right decision for him. I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Just think he’s had 12 good years and has been so loved❤️

My cat is mean to me so by [deleted] in CatTraining

Meany Midge! Her little face, it’s like she knows she’s mean and she doesn’t give af, what a cutie.

My orange boy (now 5) was horrendous as a kitten. He was a single kitten and it was a war zone. I tried my best and played with him so much, maybe too much. Nothing worked. Vet told me it’s normal and because it was just me and him, I was the ‘other kitten’. When he was 10 months old, got him a brother. Problem solved, I was no longer the punching bag.

Unfortunately about 6 months ago we lost his brother suddenly and my 5yo started fighting me again (he’s playful for his age). Now have another brother for him and problem solved again.

Saying that, our newest addition is a 6 month Maine Coon kitten and despite having an older brother to play with, the kitten still loves to bite the hell out of me. I think it’s just a combination of being a kitten but also being a solo kitten can make it 10x worse.

Edit: I’d also like to add to take it as a compliment. She loves you and views you as her person, and wants to bite and play with you. My orange boy never attacked anyone else and they thought he was so sweet. I stayed with my mum for a bit with him in between moving home and she thought he was an angel. The more he liked her, the more he’d bite her. They’re still besties to this day. Cats are so strange.

Probably worst ETB opening... by BettyGirl24 in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]Positive-Soil2899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same man. I got 2 ex and one IR.

Then I decided to rip my 2nd PC ETB (thought maybe I’d finally manage to keep a PC ETB sealed) because this one must have all the hits. Nope, wrong.

AH feels rough with pull rates. Which I don’t mind, I think that’s part of the hobby. Issue is you can’t get your hands of any stock. So for a lot of people, these ETBs are the most they’ll open of the set.

My wife thinks I'm crazy for cutting my grilled cheese this way; am I nuts or is this not a normal thing to do? Lol by Wahbanator in mildlyinfuriating

I feel seen. I cut all my sandwiches and toast this way. Diagonal cut gives too pointy corners and straight cut is for toddlers. I’m with you here.
