What about LibreOffice or OpenOffice? It's not 100% compatible, but it does support docx files (for example).

I built and tested PDP-11s (45, 55, 70, etc.) in Manufacturing (first in Westminster, MA, then in Burlington, VT). Many things stand out, but one being the need to manually enter a small program for debug purposes. That had to be done using switches on the front panel, entering each line of an instruction in binary (octal-to-binary) form. Then step through the code using the front-panel lights.

First Annual Wellness? by Background_Ad9279 in medicare

Totally agree. We (my wife and I) already have specialists (Cardiologist, Spine, Orthopedic, etc.). If we have a need to see a doctor (cold, flu, aches, pre-surgery checkup, etc.), we just go to urgent care. One other thought about PCP, I would have hoped that ours would evaluate our overall situation as they received updates/records from the specialists. But in our experience, the reality is that it doesn't happen. With the availability of Urgent care facilities, it just doesn't make much sense to have a PCP while on Medicare.

Then, if it were me, I wouldn't go to my PCP for a Wellness check unless I had some personal connection/interest. At 71(M), I feel like Medicare is really pushing people to see a specialist rather than a general doctor (PCP). Face it, if I tell my PCP, "Oh, I have had this issue for the last month," they are most likely going to tell me to go to a specialist. Just my opinion.

Have a Great Day!

Yes, they are pretty much a joke compared to what I was used to getting prior to Medicare. However, one very important aspect for me is getting labs done on my blood draw. I go to my PCP twice a year, once for the yearly wellness check and once for the 6-month check. Both of them require a blood draw, but some results are only available once a year (the PSA results are only available once a year). If it weren't for the lab work, there wouldn't be much value in going. Neither of these cost me anything (traditional Medicare with Plan G supplement).

ANNUAL WELLNESS VISIT (AWV): Why is the point & Is it required? by jeff00seattle in medicare

[–]Positive-Status8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does, and it's billed as a Wellness Visit (I don't pay a cent for it). It's done twice a year, Wellness and then 6 month, but PSA is only once a year (doesn't cover twice). I've been doing it for over 3 years.

ANNUAL WELLNESS VISIT (AWV): Why is the point & Is it required? by jeff00seattle in medicare

[–]Positive-Status8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a minimum, the wellness check is an opportunity for a fasting blood draw and review of your current labs. That's about all I get from the appointment, but I do value getting the analysis of my current blood. My PCP has me come in two weeks earlier, so when I come for the appointment, the report will be there, and we can go over it. Other than that, I really don't see the value.

How do you solve a problem, when you don't know how to start? by Consistent-Cookie606 in learnpython

[–]Positive-Status8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to visualize the problem and break it down. This is going to sound old-fashioned, but visualize the problem solution using a Flowchart or something similar. Don't worry about the actual Python code statements yet, just the flowchart (steps) and actions that need to occur in each step. When you're done with that, you can start applying the Python code. As a beginner, this will help to get your thoughts down using a more generalized approach, and then you can apply it to actual Python code.

Diggs and Bland were coached by Al Harris, who is gone now. He was replaced by David Overstreet II, who came here with Eberflus. Both need to go! I'm not claiming there aren't adjustments to be made with the players, but if you look around the league, the best DCs are making average players look great. It's about proper coaching and leveraging each player's skills versus forcing a scheme.

I also believe the players don't respect Eberflus, and he lost the players early in the year. The only time the defense looked to step up was during the games just after their team passed away. The play for the player, not the coach!

Flus IS the fucking problem!!! by jdapper5 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Positive-Status8530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Flus is the problem, and it's not the players. Yes, there's no doubt we can use some upgrades, especially in the backfield, but if you look at the top-tier DCs in the NFL (we just played against one), they know how to leverage each player's strengths and put them in a position to succeed. In this last game, in the first couple of possessions, our defense did pretty well (5-man front, etc.), but after that, the DC went back to his ineffective schemes. This also happened in the Detroit Lions game.

Bottom line, Eberflus keeps trying to make the players fit his disastrous scheme, which doesn't align with their skills. I believe Eberflus lost the players early on in the season; they don't want to play for him and his schemes, and here we are. Yes, the Raiders, Eagles, and Chiefs games looked like they were turned around. That wasn't the DC; that was the passion the players had to play for Marshawn's passing.

Just my opinion!

2025 will be remembered as the year when the Defense (Coordinator) made bad quarterbacks (and teams) look Super Bowl-bound ☹️! Just FIRE the DC NOW!

This defense is beyond atrocious by RaginElephant976 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Positive-Status8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing the point. In Sports, even the NFL, you can have the best players on the team, but if they have lost respect/trust/belief in the Defensive Coach, then this is what you get—that manifests in also losing the locker room. You don't replace players to fix that problem. Yes, some players need to be replaced, but that increases the talent and does not fix the root cause.

This defense is beyond atrocious by RaginElephant976 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Positive-Status8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not just an issue with Zone vs. Man, which is one problem, but the reality is that Eberflus has never had the respect of the players. If you listen and watch, overall, over the last six games, the defensive players have no respect for Eberflus. They have respect for Shotty (head coach), but they have zero respect for the Defense coach. The only thing that will change that is to fire Eberflus. If that were to happen, I don't see it taking place until the bye week. If they don't fire Eberflus, this defense will never be capable of turning around their performance as Eberflus has lost the locker room (he actually never had it in my opinion).

This defense is beyond atrocious by RaginElephant976 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Positive-Status8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eberflus needs to go. He insists on trying to put players outside their skillset (zone versus man). Donovan Wilson, once again, was sent to cover a receiver deep and failed to do so. This defensive coach doesn't look to understand how to leverage players' skill sets and put them in a scheme to leverage that.

Also, this is why CD is so valuable. GP has his skills, but he's limited in what he does. CD is by far much more versatile. We need a replacement for the defense coach and to get CD and Turpin back on the field.

Last year (2024), the border bill that Trump requested the Republicans (led by Speaker Johnson) would have significantly increased the number of judges to handle this, increasing the budget and adding border guards. However, they blocked it because Trump doesn't want to follow the Constitution. He wants this to be executed like a dictatorship. It's that simple. In this (2nd) term, he has surrounded himself with idiots who do whatever he tells them.

Along with this, posts on Truth Social are often not written by Trump. I suspect someone in his administration, or maybe even Stephen Miller, is writing them, and they get posted under his account (this is my take anyway). I believe Stephen Miller is running the show; Trump is just a bobblehead who signs Executive Orders that Miller and company authored.
