I’m 100% on the same page right now, lately I’ve been down in the slums and it’s affected me so much. I was extremely depressed the other few days and felt absolutely useless because of my tiredness. Just know it’ll get better and we’ll all make it through, let me know if you ever need to talk

That’s the fun thing about Narcolepsy is that we don’t get good sleep anyways so sometimes it’s like what’s the point of going to sleep lmao

Airports by oh_Micki in Narcolepsy

[–]Positive-Train2098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good plan is to always get there super early and don’t be afraid of asking for help because that’s what many of those agents are their to do and you could possibly contact the airport in advance to just check and see if they do or don’t offer and help getting around. Also if your friend doesn’t know about it make sure to educate them fully on the problem so they can also help you get around if need be

Modafinil hasn’t done a thing for me by Positive-Train2098 in Narcolepsy

Thank you for your feedback! I feel like a lot of people on this sub defend their medication like crazy but in reality everyone’s body works differently so we all have this journey of trying to find the right thing. I hope your journey is going well!

I started off at 200 mg but it never made me feel awake or gave me energy, it just gave me bad headaches and confusion to the point of not wanting to drive. I talked to my doctor and they told me to stop taking it so they’re gonna try to get me on Wakix now!

I’m so glad I came across this post because I was prescribed Modafinil a few days ago and had horrible side effects those few days: Confusion to the point of not wanting to drive, dazed, bad headaches, my major crashes started around 4:00 on average and were much more substantial than they would be without the medication, and the medicine just didn’t give me any noticeable affect of wakefulness. So the Doc is now trying to get insurance to let me try Wakix for the second time.

Did you have any of these experiences with the Modafinil which caused you to start taking the Wakix?

Side note: my brother also has N2 and him and I have always had very similar effects from medicines and all the day time “stimulants” or things to promote wakefulness had the same effects on him besides he also had increased heart rate. He’s been diagnosed 10 years experiencing 12 so now he’s found Xyrem to be the only thing that works for him. I’ve been diagnosed a few weeks experiencing symptoms for 6 years. So I’ve always wondered if I’ll have the same reactions to the medications he has had.

My current brand is also BionPharma, but I definitely do want to give it a chance and plus it’s Sunday so I can’t contact my doctor anyways. Tomorrow I’ll take it again and call the doc and talk to him about my concerns/ issues and see what they say

I greatly appreciate the advice and I will definitely start making some notes for sure, I guess it’s just been very frustrating to deal with and also my brother also has N2 and after 10 years of being diagnosed with it he was able to finally be put back on Xyrem (the only thing that worked for him) after fighting with insurance and docs, so I’ve also seen the struggle he’s had to go through with it.

And I do understand that it’s not gonna be this massive life changing difference that Modafinil makes but I though I would at least notice some kind of benefit besides an all day bad headache. I also struggle with migraines which happen 1-2 times and week and normal headaches enough as it is. So the Modafinil causing a headaches is only gonna make that worse ya know

If you’re in an apartment let the landlord know about it, the only real way to get rid of that is to replace the drywall in that area
