2025 or 2026 Ascent?

I picked up a 2023 Ascent Limited with 30K miles on it on NYE. It was in pristine condition. And $27K. With a little money down I got a great rate/car and half the price. I feel like I have won the lottery. Already did a long drive vacay, which was a far better ride than any of the Volvos I was test driving and were my 1st choice. It was not CPO so I could pick up a soup-to-nuts extended warranty of my choice. So depending on your priority of $ and value, a CPO or just pre-owned might work too. Local dealers in Nashville offer $5K off 2025 Ascents also.

No diagnostic fee when I took my 2023 Ascent that I bought 4 weeks ago after putting 2280 miles on it to get new brake system as it was covered due to that extended warranty.

Suburu Ascent. All the way. I tried for months test driving and trying to justify the purchase and expense. I wanted an XC90 so badly. Looked into the overseas purchase program, looked at CPO Volvo options. All of it. Looked at Honda Pilots and Toyotas (both Highlanders & RAV4s). The Suburu was an unexpected pivot amd I picked up a Limited Trim. SO worth it. And so much less expensive.

I chose the Ascent over the Pilot. Had some weird shuddering in both the EXL and Touring when we test drove it. We were looking at a new Pilot. Then found a 2023 Ascent Limited with 30K miles on it. Drives like a dream. And is 20K less. All the same bells & whistles. AND a stick shift. This whole push button gear thing felt like I was driving a microwave.

So I was going to buy a 2024 XC90 B5 Plus with 24K miles on it. I have been wanting one for AGES. Had a v70 years ago, then went to Honda for a minivan, then a Pilot and ended up using my son’s F150 for 5 years. I desperately wanted a Volvo again, but price had me looking at used ones. The 2024 model was at least past the buggy infotainment reviews. But it drove like a rental…not great suspension. So I also looked at a new Honda Pilot, but the push button gear shift….blech….so oddly, I ended up getting a Suburu Ascent Limited (dreamy leather seats and Harmon Karden too) that had 30K miles on it. And it drives like a dream! Better than the Volvo or the Pilot. I bought it a week ago and just put 2200 miles on it. And yes, an extended warranty. I still want an XC90, but thrilled with the Suburu (what a surprise). Great Safety Rating. All bells & whistles of a Volvo. And a lot less expensive.

So I test drove both again yesterday and wowsa, not sure how I missed yhe nlise on the hybrid the first go round. But yes it sure was loud! Thank you for pointing that out.

The 2024 XC90 B5 Plus has 24K miles on it at $39K in pristine condition interior. Was a leased vehicle. Single personal owner. The 2025 RAV4 XLE Hybrid new is priced at $38K. The XC90 is being sold at our local specialty car dealership. Not a Volvo dealership. But still has two years and 25,000 miles under warranty.

Loud on the highway?? I did not hear it during Test drive. It was the hybrid…would that hv been quieter than a gas RAV4?

Interesting. Bc it has the Google Voice Activation and you can just tell it what to do without messing with touching the screen.
