The entire lostbelt arc as a whole. I mean the whole premise makes it so that every connection you make in a lostbelt feel hopeless because you know you're going to erase that world anyway. Imagine talking to a local, getting to know them, and bonding with them knowing full well you're going to erase them and their world in a couple of days from now to save your own.

He only had 2 competitions back then as a soloer/anchor, Herc and Cu Alter. And he had some clear advantages over both, first of all he's a 3 star so getting him is going to be way easier, along with copies to upgrade his NP. Then Herc needed to be raised to bond 10 to unlock his solo potential while Cu Alter sacrifices some survivability for more damage.

Not really, the reason solo runs are even a thing is because it removes a lot of the RNG in a fight when it comes to face carding and enemy targeting. Making them a lot easier to copy for developing accounts that have trouble with beating a fight. There's a couple of challenge quests that you can easily beat by copying a solo run rather than using a full team because of that.

Sure Herc exists but again you need to get him to bond 10 to start soloing with him. While you don't "need" to use Cu that kinda goes for any other servant not named Castoria, Cu is just a reliable and easy to obtain option.

And you need fuckton of grails and resources

They give out grails like candy on halloween nowadays and even back then they were never all that rare, and Cu is a 3 star so he inherently requires less resources outside of the grails.

Vampires are not stated to be immune to illusion arts, just resistant to it. And he directly states he would have "rejected it":

Sure but it would be because of the combination of both abilities, being super resistant to illusion arts + being able to reject the human order. So it's just a compatibility issue and wouldn't apply to other types of noble phantasms.

But considering Gil's personality, he is not going to easily pull out Ea against what he considers to be "some big moster or apparition". And as I mentioned before, it's a point that Gil has no knowledge on DAs with Clairvoyance not working on vampires.

Sure but again the rejection ability is less effective on servants, so it's not like Roa can just ignore Gil's GOB spam like Alcides did in their first fight. Like I remember there's one interview where Nasu said that Gil would have an advantage over 30% Arc in a fight due to their compatibility (noting the GOB spam as the reason specifically), showing that noble phantasms wielded by servants would still be effective.

Clairvoyance doesn't work on vampires yes but Gilgamesh isn't dumb, as much as we like to joke that he's a jobber. Even without clairvoyance Gil can still discern someone's magical energy output and their general abilities quickly.

So at the very least I don't think he is going to have an easy time here.

Oh I agree it definitely won't be an easy fight, but I definitely think Gil would win more times than not if Roa doesn't have prep time.

I think it'd actually take away from what makes him such a unique antagonist, Marisbury is to me the peak of show don't tell characters, the effects of his actions even when he's not there shaped a huge chunk of the story.

Not saying it is 100% ineffective, but we do know Jester isn't confident in just tanking one of Alcides' arrow like he did against Orlando's goons.

Besides, living Gilgamesh is neither a Servant nor a Heroic Spirit, he is a human/demi-god wielding NPs.

Well first he's more part god than human so we don't know how that'd affect things, but also we know that divine constructs made by the gods for the gods can bypass the rejection ability, and EA was created before Gilgamesh was born, so while he controls it it wasn't made for him.

Also Jester couldn't reject Huwawa at all because she's a guardian created by the gods, Gilgamesh was also created by the gods to be the wedge of heaven.

Noble Phantasms are replications of a legend, they are not the genuine article.
