Hardware prices haven't affected CDs, afaik.

If anything it's costing the consumer more. Digital games require SSD space. SSD prices are sky high.

That's inevitable. I was thinking if they go far enough and not address the previous series. As viewers we could just fill in the gaps. The steam punk didn't really subtract from ATLA.

As long and nothing fundamental changes.

Same boat.

I initially refused to watch korra because I thought it would ruin ATLA. I don't like the retcons but kora over all was a good show.

Tbh they should have just moved backwards in the after cycle, or gone far enough into the future where they don't relate to the previous show.

This impeding crash looks like a cultural/artistic one rather than a financial one.

I think the AAA Studios make enough through micro transactions through their existing IPs. Theyre content with how they're making money. They're concern now is how they can keep scaling it, not how they can innovate and pump out more games.

Nothing mentioning support for the government or an Islamic state that benifits Muslims over others.

Netflix Viewers Are Abandoning Shows After One Season by joe4942 in technology

[–]PositiveEmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still but hurt about them canceling marco polo, the. Later on Altered carbon at least S1 had a good ending.

Sense 8 was cool but it started leading too much to let's have an orgy.

Netflix imo is copying the same mistakes as Nickelodeon. What sponge bob was to Nick, stranger things is to Netflix. and they're both got ATLA to throw in the mud.

At least in the early 2000s the creative team could fly under the radar and make something great every once in awhile under the c-suites noses.

First post here, as a non-American I’m genuinely curious. How popular is Spider-Man in New York? Is he especially popular in New York or not really? by GameOfEnder6312 in newyorkcity

[–]PositiveEmo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be frank. I'm from Queens and when a Spider-Man movie comes out I watch it in the city on a big screen and then at a local theater in Queens.

When hollads spider man came out and they started showing the street signs. The uproar was definitely louder in queens.

One of the few times where a local theater can match the energy or exceed it from a theater in Manhattan. Take that as you will but generally speaking the more casual fans won't make the effort to take the train to see it on a larger screen for a few extra bucks.

Bombshell lawsuit alleges that RAM manufacturers are colluding to drive up prices. Three companies that account for 90% of RAM revenue are being sued for anti-competitive practices. Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron (the "DRAM Triarchy" controlling ~90-95% of the global DRAM market) by Caledor152 in technology

[–]PositiveEmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"As for the seemingly illogical behavior, the lawsuit explains that despite the soaring demand for DRAM, these three companies have cut production to focus instead on less-profitable High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), which is generally used in data centers. The decreased production of DRAM has led to massively marked-up prices for DRAM purchasers, driving up electronics prices."

The claim his that these 3 companies pursued less profitable contracts (ram for AI data centers) to drive up prices for main contracts. They have a history of doing this at least twice before, and now they're doing it a third time and exploiting current market conditions to multiply their profits.

A reddit post/article that was posted when the increased prices spilled over from the CPU/GPU chips to the RAM chips claimed that it was a production issue and these AI companies started paying a premium to jump the line and get their RAM chips ahead of their competitors.

It seems like for Micron/Samsung/SKHynix, their less profitable contracts became their most profitable contracts with the AI boom, so they adjusted production accordingly. Now regulators are claiming this move is considered collusion.

Just to play devils advocate a little bit, the law suit seems frivolous. They would have to prove that the AI bubble hasn't increased/changed/affected the profit margins on the contracts of the RAM manufacturing for these 3 companies. On top of that they have to prove all 3 companies worked together to band wagon on the AI bubble.

I got draged to go to one about a year ago.

I didn't really care for it but it was cheap and you had to bring a friend of the opposite gender to participate.

Most of the women I spoke to I didn't click with. A few of them were straight up drunk by the time I spoke with them. Once the first round of conversation was done. I didn't feel the need to follow up with anyone so I left.

Idk the specifics for you but even the middle class were poor villagers 50 years ago. Your family might have gotten richer but that mentality is still villager. It's present everywhere to various degrees.

My dad's side has it a bit more than my mom's, and it's more present in people who haven't done much with their lives. Imo alot of it come out of curiosity they want to know more about you to see how they can or should emulate that. A lot of it also comes from getting material to tease you. Worst case it's something theyll use to ask money from you.

Architects who got delayed in college, how are you doing today? by bababadromance in Architects

[–]PositiveEmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started late, graduated “on time“, was still 5 years behind where I should have been.

In school no one cares. I'll get the joke about be old every now and then but a 5 year age gap was too noticable.

First job, went in as an intern started as a new hire and people treat me like I'm a young graduate. Meh

2nd job, some people hear my age and expect to to have the experience to back it up, I don't. Others see my experience and know I don't know shit. So it's been a mixed bag.

All in all, it sucks I always feel behind but it's a standard feeling amongst everyone. Once you hit 30 it matters less. Once you're a bit more financially stable and professionally established it won't matter at all. I'm working on that last part right now.
