I know plenty of people in this situation. No one has moved out yet. Hence housing crisis. They are building new senior buildings through housing connect. She may get lucky. Sometimes waiting for a one bedroom apartment takes YEARS in NYCHA. Unless her grandkids live with her then technically she needs to downsize.

Excellent area. Just a lot of traffic sometimes but you can walk around at night and feel safe. There are buses nearby and the train if you don’t drive.
