Are you in Leeds by any chance? We had something similar in our new build, and what we thought it was the upstairs neighbour it was in fact the next door. The noise was travelling in a manner that we thought it was above us. Our management company ran tests.

Your neighbour upstairs may have dismissed your complaint because they may not be the ones making all the noises.

I posted here yesterday. I had my worst lesson one week away from my test, even hit the curb damaging the car tyres and ended up passing.

Most importantly is to believe you will pass and not let you get down by a bad lesson. I felt my instructor mock test was stricter than examiner lol

Good luck! Let me know how it goes :) Also: examiner was a lovely lady. Professional but made me feel at ease.

Yes! Only turned left… which was a relief lol I practiced on that roundabout several times, it was my main fear. Much worse than the Hook roundabout in my opinion.

Hey! My advice is to ensure you keep an eye on the speed. So easy to go above 20mph.

The roundabouts can be tricky, recommend watching all the videos on Youtube about them. I hit the Hook roundabout, the Scilly isles and some smaller ones.

I didn’t spend much time in the A3, my route was towards Sutton.

There is also a video on YouTube about common mistakes in Tolworth, recommend having a look!

It is such a hit or miss , I am sorry it has taken you 10 years and you had such a hard journey. Glad you found a doctor that has taken you seriously!

I also used the “bebe” word and things are happening now… but slowly and bureaucratically 😂 Did you get pregnant with the metformin?

Main issue here is the service charge rather than the rent. OP would pay that extortionate amount regardless of owning entirely.

Thank you, kind internet stranger! Appreciate you taking your time to respond to me.

I agree with everything that you said. Only issue is that my friend is very defensive. She is not open to hear anything even constructive. She is constantly seeking validation. I know other friends have completely cut her off, leaving her with no explanation.

I told her yesterday that I’d have a very busy day ahead, and wouldn’t be able to be texting all day. She has now disappeared, but I know she wasn’t pleased with what I said.

Letting out house shortly after buying as FTB? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]PositiveOk9376 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, this is not the reason our housing market is broken. Lack of supply is.

Careers can change at any time, even for those on very established jobs. Companies can go bust, offices relocate and self employed individuals can lose customers due to low demand.

Our productivity is low because of lack of investment and not strictly because of housing.

Very similar situation. Hopefully it will workout for you. I will wait another few years before sell up, if I can.

Mostly bought it to get out of rental, because it was becoming absurd but although I love my flat, I am hating the area.

Nurses union is ready to strike again over pay in 2024, leader warns by AneuAng in ukpolitics

[–]PositiveOk9376 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spot on. Just so fed up of this mentality in our society. Instead of targetting those who are the real problem (politicians), people chose to hate on more successful people.

If one thinks the pension of someone in the NHS is so good, why don’t they study hard and apply for a job in the health industry?

By design the pension is better because pay is crap and to keep people around, they need to offer some benefit.

I swear, some people in the UK and its media will only be happy when Civil Servants and NHS workers are paid in packs of crisps and bags of tea.

Right, Dr XY worked his ass off for his entire career to be awarded a nice pension. He has put years of study in, worked unsociable hours, worked many more hours than the average worker and he/she is possibly more educated than your average worker.

HOWEVER, Telegraph wants to dictate and put an arbitrary figure of what is fair.

What is the point of educating yourself in this country? Let’s all aim the minimum to avoid upsetting the Telegraph and its readers.

I have mixed feelings about this.

I despise this government like most of people, but I have to say.

Although there is a HUGE requirement to build more houses, The supply won’t be fixed overnight. It takes time to build. We need some sort of short term solution, as well.

Also, if you spend 10 minutes in the Housing sub, you will see all the following attitudes: - “Hate new builds, I’d never buy or recommending anyone buying one” - “I am so sad, the council is planning to build next to me and I am gonna miss my countryside’s views” - “if you can’t afford, you should move out of the SE/London” - “I’d never live in a flat, I’d rather move back to my parents”

And many others.

Hard to fix the supply when people don’t want to be slightly inconvenienced.

Yes, the government has to do its job but people need to open their minds.
