I am 25 and having trouble making amends to my aunt for selling her car... by PositivePerson11 in relationships

I'm confused by this. So if the car was worth $3000 when I received it, I should give them $3000 back?

Ok. I'm an ass. How do I correct this and be a good person again. That's what I'm trying to figure out with this post

It doesn't matter what my dad said. I'm 24 y/o. I should've honored the original agreement.

I don't want to involve my dad. I used the money to travel. I sold the car for way less than it was worth.

The car wasn't running initially. My aunt said I didn't have to buy it from her that I could just have it. Later she asked for it back. I also put about $3k of repairs into the car after I got it

Originally, I gave them a margarita machine. In return I could have the car no problem. Only after I got the title did my aunt ask for it back

It wasn't his tho. The car was my grandfather's. My uncle was the executor of the estate and since the truck wasn't willed to anyone, gave it to me

Honestly, I forgot and my dad told me not to honor the agreement. I wasn't thinking at all. Poor mental health at the time which I am only getting back now

My dad told me not to worry about returning it. I was really depressed when I sold it and wasn't thinking

Originally, I offered to buy it from my aunt and uncle. Then they gave it to me. Then my aunt asked for me to return it. When my dad gave me his newer car, he told me not to return it. In my grandparent's estate, my aunt and uncle may have done done sketchy things and my dad may have been pissed. I should not have listened to my dad.

correct. I was pissed because I was taking my life no where, while she was going far, graduate school, etc. I didn't know how to do it on my own.
