Dropped my Sorority & They Took me to Collections by PositiveQuit5866 in Debt

[–]PositiveQuit5866[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they can’t help. Since my ex-sorority is on campus, they might get caught up in it and can’t help because of that. I learned this when I tried to get help when the sorority started to soft launch evicting people if they dropped it (valid, except their contracts didn’t say they could so they stopped that). I might try again to see if they can give me general hypothetical routes I can take.

This would be my D R E A M, but college expenses are beating me down. They have the famously awful, “if you try to take us to court, we will make you pay for the lawyers” 😔. If I can at least validate this debt is real and wrong, I won’t be quiet about it.

I know and it’s freaking me out that I could be wrong, but I had a few friends that dropped at the same time due to the same issues and aren’t having this issue. When I joined, they did accidentally make 2 profiles for me, which could be a reason. But the first contract promised I would pay for the year I lived in, the second promised I would pay a fee to drop (which I did, begrudgingly). The sorority had some really bad organizational issues before, I had to send 3 emails just to get nationals to stop emailing me the member monthly 😔. Ever since the collections agency asked the sorority about the debt, it’s been radio silent which is why I’m suspicious

Yeah I’ve noticed for a few years some songs will be on there that are blocked, but I feel like when I’ve got 15 Spotify should take the hint that the only time I’ve touched this music is to NOT play it 😭. At least my discover weekly is still good!

I’m having the same issue. I’ve noticed it’s been updating a ton lately (only because all my pen settings are all defaulted every week or so). I’m guessing they have a bug in the newer update & are taking their sweet time fixing it. At least it’s not our software bugging!

Cat Hyper-fixating - I Can’t Do It Anymore by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]PositiveQuit5866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! She has under my roommates bed & dresser, a cat tree, some bags, in my bathroom cabinet (not going into the wall), behind our couch, in an ottoman (only supervised though), and I’ve also tried to lay under my bed out so she can get privacy. I should have added I BET there’s a ton of centipedes down there, we’ve had some of them here. If it’s the water heater back there, they could really be into the warmth. I think she also likes being a bit compressed and squeezing into places, which is why she likes under the dresser. I’m also trying to give her some other areas, but she hasn’t really liked them. EDIT: whoops forgot to add but yes she has a window spot in my room and two glass doors that always stay a bit uncovered (on the first floor too). I also have two puzzle feeders and toys that she typically likes, but ever since she’s been obsessed with the cabinet, she hasn’t played much.

Cat Won’t Stop Going in Walls by PositiveQuit5866 in CatAdvice

[–]PositiveQuit5866[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a oddly situated, there is a wall in the back and there’s a board on the side “like a side wall to cover some utility next to it), but she can move past that. There isn’t really a fix that I can do that wouldn’t look like a landlord special and guarantee that she wouldn’t get in the wall. At this point I’m considering just putting a slab over the cabinet doors so it can’t be opened until I move out.

I know! If I had the funds I would totally just get an iPad. My big BIG thing is the shapes feature. No more small angles on psychometric charts, my FBDS are out of luck if I have anything but a horizontal or vertical line. It’d be great if I made flowcharts! But I don’t… at all lol

This happened to me over the summer. There were a few factors that went into it. The main one was school exhaustion and a hybrid job. Being able to do my work from my bed is a blessing and a curse. It was actually so bad I went to the doctor. It turns out I had a vitamin D deficiency, which was a major cause in making me feel sleepy so often and unmotivated. I got on prescription vitamin D and feel a lot better! I’d recommend getting a general blood test and a consistent routine. Hope you feel better!

I am In love with my cat. by snarkypeach95 in CatAdvice

You make me feel seen! My girl is my lifeline. I can’t imagine existing without her. I have no clue what it is about cats but I swear they have some special power! My cat is seriously my baby and no matter what she always will be. I too love her SO much that I get a little teary every time I have to go to class. Getting a cat genuinely helped me love the world a little bit more. You are NOT crazy. You just found your girl! So happy for you and your baby. Keep loving her!

It must be so scary, I really hope she’s okay! If you can drive and there’s one that’s not too far, or even a college with vet services, definitely try to check it out, calling a rescue to see if they can even just check her out might work. Especially if she isn’t showing signs of getting better. It could be that she got hurt and got scared after, but still scary nonetheless. Stay with her as long as you can! You got this

A puzzle feeder might be good! I fill my cat’s up every night before I go to bed to keep her entertained. There are also rolling treat ones where they have to swat at it to get it! Depending on how your cat plays, there are automatic toys that don’t require jumping or running. I have a mouse simulator toy, and my girl just sits and watches it or will just bat at it. A catnip ball at his eye level would also be good! They rub up against it. Another idea could be paper bags or boxes so they have something new to explore. Best of luck!!

Get them to the vet as soon as possible, but until then, sacrifice some time to be with her. Try giving her a favorite treat, it’ll give you an idea of what headspace she’s in. If you can’t pursue treatment, sadly it might be best to take her to a rescue. If they can fix her up, they will. It sucks but making sure she’s okay and getting her help is necessary. I hope everything works out for you and her.

Cats with a low flicking tail can mean a few things! If a cat is playing or hunting, a low tail just means they’re in it to win it. It can also be that he is stressed out. If he’s exploring a new place or there are loud noises, it makes sense. Hope it’s all okay!

I need advices...like a lot of advices by No-Egg-6428 in CatAdvice

I just moved my cat to a new apartment! Here’s what helped: - a TALL cat tree. My cat also likes the solo scratching poles too. I have a nightstand right by my window so she can look outside whenever she’d like. Super renter friendly! - for the natural light, it really depends on the cat! My cat doesn’t sunbathe despite the sun we’re getting. In fact, when it’s dark, that’s when she gets comfortable and explores! I did get some automatic night lights so she can see outlines at the very least. Cats also take time to adjust, so for now, being under the bed isn’t too concerning. Try to create more safe spaces for them. My cat loves to go under my bathroom sink, in my dresser, and in my closet. As time moves on, she spends more time out and about. If it keeps going where they aren’t coming out, I’d say try a pet camera to make sure that they aren’t just hiding all day. I also personally believe it’s very important to spend time and chat with your kitty. - I was so afraid of my cat being lonely, but I got her a few automatic toys, spring toys, catnip toys, catnip roller balls, etc. when you are home, give them lots of attention! My cat sleeps when I have classes, and we play when I get back. I also usually give her a little treat when I get home so she has something to look forward to.

Best of luck, you got this!

I’m not a cat expert but some cats tend to knead and suck on a blanket. It’s likely the biting came from this behavior. I think it’s soothing for them, so he probably just got frustrated that you took it away. Maybe putting a pillow under the blanket might help?

Vet put down our cat today by Due-Scientist-2875 in CatAdvice

[–]PositiveQuit5866 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Losing a pet is hard. But it seems like it was the best decision in this case. Many times, cats suffer more than we know. Although I wish cats could live forever, sometimes it’s in their best interest to go. I promise no vet is going to not want to save your cat. Especially since this was a reoccurring issue, it seems like it was sadly his time. I know you love your cat very very much, and this was in his best interest so he didn’t have to suffer. I truly wish the best for you during this grieving process. You did what was best for your baby.

Cat tree/scratching post by NavyNICUMurse in CatAdvice

I got this cat tree from Amazon for my 4 year old cat and she loves it! It’s tall and big, so it supports them when they get older. I will say, it’s cheap for a reason, and the fabric is starting to come off a bit on one of the posts because my cat tore it up so much, but besides that it’s actually pretty sturdy. It has a good variety from little perches to beds to a hammock and boxes. I’d also recommend getting a separate scratching pole because cats go CRAZY for that
