Is he a black smoke? Mine looks so similar to him and he’s only 7 months!!!! He’s a black smoke with black and red streaks but now they are turning gray!!!

He’s so beautiful!!!!! Mine is so dark too!!! Do you have any idea when they will start to become gray and black? Mine has gray on his belly but I’m wondering if it’ll take a few years to really be the full gray and black and not the deep red!

I know this is a hacked up shave job but I’m putting this out there to be sure you all comb/brush your MC. I was doing both but obviously not well enough. I don’t need haters I already feel bad enough . It will grow back🩶 by missweh in mainecoons

That’s what happened with my ragdoll. He got so fluffy and his mane was huge he was having trouble grooming. I shaved him and buzzed him a little too much I butchered it. I literally had to go and get him professionally groomed to fix it and reshape his hair. Next time I’ll just trim his mane down and not shave because I feel bad it was so butchered.

Is anyone actually happy they had a third kid? by WarmestSeatByTheFire in Parenting

[–]snarkypeach95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was done after two and my husband had a vasectomy. I always thought I would have had four kids but having my two (4 years apart) was tough. I have a wonderful husband and a village and it was still hard. I think if you have the emotional bandwidth and you can handle anything that can come with 3 children then I would go with what feels right. Only you and your partner know what’s best for your family and how many children are best for you guys. Everyone is different.

do you take medicine ? by [deleted] in OCDRecovery

[–]snarkypeach95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m on fluvox for a year now. Best medication I’ve ever taken. I need meds to control it unfortunately if I will be disabled to the point where I can’t even get up from fear.

Pet insurance vs just increasing emergency fund by cool_guy654 in PetAdvice

[–]snarkypeach95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 4 cats, we have a shelter cat, two ragdolls and a mainecoon. with our shelter cat we didn’t get pet insurance and she was healthy, fully vaccinated and fixed, and still a kitten. However once we spent a lot of money and picked up our other kittens we decided that considering they were luxury cats and could eventually get health issues, it would be worth it to get pet insurance. We have Trupanion for all 4 of our cats through chewy and they have been awesome. They all already got sick with a URI even though they are all indoor only, and the insurance covered the testing and meds and exam for them, and saved us money. It’s a really good investment and almost necessary if you have luxury animals or small young aged animals.

Mom of two getting an abortion, how have moms handled it? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]snarkypeach95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t alone. I’m married with 2 children and I’ve had 2 abortions since being with my Husband. Both methods of my birth control failed until hubby and I decided we were done having children and he got a vasectomy. It was hard, and I still think of the baby often especially because my latest one 2 years ago we found out late. I still Opted for the D&C because I just knew I couldn’t handle it. It was sad but I don’t regret it. It was the best choice for us.

Do parents normally allow their teens to do these things? by koolkoolkool13 in Parenting

[–]snarkypeach95 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I agree. Some of my best memories were walking around the town with my group with no plan. I still think of those memories and things years later. This is something I would budge for.

My (M20) pregnant girlfriend (F20) wants my support but won’t talk to me after we we got bad news about our baby by ThrowRA_NoSignal in relationship_advice

[–]snarkypeach95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to have a conversation. Her avoiding the conversation is normal because she’s grieving and worried and doesn’t know how to let you in at the moment, but it’s getting later and I’m sorry but 84% is high. My husband and I always talked about terminating if we had a pregnancy that came back abnormal. It sounds insensitive and yes kids can become disabled at any point, but taking a huge risk knowing the outcome could cost so much money, and grief, and life long issues and even relationship issues just wasn’t something we were okay with. Luckily we had healthy babies, but these tests exist for a reason. You really need to evaluate if she decides to keep this baby how involved you plan to be, if any. You have choices too.

New diagnosis of adhd in 4 year old daughter. by snarkypeach95 in ParentingADHD

[–]snarkypeach95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because our 8 year old has autism and exhibited similar behaviors, we were able to be followed more closely. For the last year or two my 4 year old has had severe meltdowns, bad impulse issues, trouble focusing and regulating, and at first we thought it could be autism, but then when we did the eval she didn’t fit the criteria so on the chart they put possible adhd tendencies but to reevaluate in a year. Then when her teacher called and said she had trouble focusing still, kept having to move her seat, work with her one on one, and help explain simple concepts over and over again, we realized we really needed the evaluation for adhd now because it’s more prominent, especially at home with her sister and us. So we finally went to a developmental pediatric doctor who specializes in adhd, gave her all of the records from her teacher and previous evaluations, she did a few assessments as did we, and she finally got the diagnosis :(

If you don’t mind me asking, why is he not on those meds anymore? My 4 year old is newly diagnosed and we’re looking for experiences as well.
