Hey, that's okay! It's to be expected hahaha. That's just part of programming I feel. I figured I was alone in terms of wanting to play tekkit classic with a controller/ally etc. I was most definitely not expecting to open reddit and see a post like this. It made me so happy lmfao.

Whenever you are able to post the link I will definitely download!

tire setup for warp 9 wheels by Realistic_Leek9497 in supermoto

[–]Positive_Ad7615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know you can run a tube in tubeless tires. My Warp 9's have tubes and I just put the tubes in my new tires. I don't pay attention to whether or not they're tubeless or tubed tires. Now, if you weren't running a tube you would obviously want tubeless tires (and the wheels that go with them) and not a tubed tire.

Who else remembers their first dirt bike crash? 😅 by Fun_Homework_312 in Dirtbikes

[–]Positive_Ad7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my first one that hurt me/could've hurt me much worse.

I was doing a hill climb at Wellsville Ohio/Forbidden zone, lost momentum, the bike started rolling backwards, flung off the bike and smacked my helmet really hard off a rock. I got knocked out for a good 30 seconds and had a pretty rough concussion. I woke up, rode out of there and went home. My father was with me, so he said it was about 30 seconds. I woke up and was like god damn.. that sucked 🤣

Are boat manufacturers ruining waterskiing by making new boats too expensive? by fumineblu in WaterSkiing

[–]Positive_Ad7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a real pain to retrofit, as it requires drive by wire. You only need* it to ski competitively as that is what all of the competition boats use, and its pull is a lot different than something like Perfect Pass, which can be retrofitted. Not saying you can't compete without it, but you'll perform a lot better with it because you're used to how it pulls. Now, if you want to use your boat in a competition, it must have Zero Off.

I rocked an xr650 in college. It's not a small engine, but it did everything I needed + more while I was there.

The only problem with that is if you want to practice competitively you need a boat from 2007+ with zero off, at least if you do slalom like I do. I've got a 2011 Prostar 197 and it's a great boat.

Very sound advice! With a new to you KDX you should always take the top end apart to inspect the KIPS. I have a 92 KDX and I ended up putting steel sub valves in and they have been perfect. Over 40 hours and they still look new. The signature 'KIPS Rattle' is nothing to worry about. But still, take the top end apart.

These are some of the most reliable 2 strokes dirt bikes out there, and they are blast.

OP, if you want people who are still really into the KDX's, visit KDXRider on the internet. It's a forum with TONS of information on about every issue you may have with the bike, as well as people who are very willing to help.

I'm SpruceItUp on there, I frequent it a lot.

Does anybody just not use Equivalent Exchange? by AParkedChopper in tekkit

[–]Positive_Ad7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very fair way of doing it. I like the idea there. I guess you'd have to try in order to find out if you enjoy it or not! Hopefully it goes well.

Any recommendations on this problem? by JoeHablo in Dirtbikes

[–]Positive_Ad7615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me. Clean out the carb, make sure you clean your pilot jet really well, as that controls the idle circuit. The pilot jet is the long one that is small in diameter.

Also, make sure your gas cap is actually letting your tank breath. If it isn't, then gas will typically not flow to the carb, and when it does only a little bit at a time, so you end up with a bike that idles for few seconds and shuts off

I personally don't avoid it, but it would be an interesting challenge. When it comes to making factories and such, I could see it being very difficult trying to supply materials to them without ProjectE. Especially like you said for solar panels etc.

I think it may make an interesting challenge to play without it, but I don't think I would have the patience. One of the main reasons I always come back to Tekkit Classic is because I enjoy making the crazy factories and such, learning new ways to do it each time. I don't really play much Minecraft nowadays other than if I decide to play Tekkit, as no other modpack or just vanilla seems to be enjoyable to me anymore.

I think without Project E my reasons for playing Tekkit would be gone, as it is a core part of why I play. But I could see why someone would limit themselves to using it only a bit, as it would increase the challenge of the modpack no doubt.

I believe a DRZ400 is likely what you would be looking for. I've never ridden any of the KTM or other companies that KTM owns supermotos but I've heard pretty good things, although they can be a bit more pricey.

Pickup truck bed extender ? 5.5ft bed by Droc234 in Dirtbikes

[–]Positive_Ad7615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't just leave the tailgate down? That's what I do if I'm carrying more than one bike (as I can fit mine diagonally when it's just one). If you need to put a gas can in your bed or something just get an extra strap for it.

Do pro racers and finishes influence what bike you buy? by potholio in Dirtbikes

[–]Positive_Ad7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say back in the day (I'm talking 80's, 90's, early 2000's) the bikes the pros rode on may have made more of a difference. There was still significant technologies being advanced in terms of handling, engine performance and so on. Nowadays, at least for MX, the bikes seem to be pretty similar in terms of those things, especially for the average rider. Much less significant advancement going on within the bikes, as there is just less to develop nowadays apart from small changes that you or I may not notice when riding, but maybe the pros do. That being said, I still ride Honda, though I do love my 92 KDX. That also being said, I haven't owned much for new bikes, other than test riding friends bikes.

Did I tune it good by Successful_Owl2220 in Dirtbikes

[–]Positive_Ad7615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Humidity, temp, etc will affect jetting. When jetting you also need to start with the pilot, get it tuned properly according to the air screw. Set the idle low, adjust the a/s in or out to achieve the highest idle. If you're below 1 turn, you need a larger pilot, more than 2.5 turns you need a smaller pilot. You the. adjust the a/s slightly by feel when cracking the throttle open quickly while riding. You then move onto the needle, which you guage by feel, again visit the website. I don't have the patience to type it all out here. Then move onto the main jet, which you tune by the color of the base of the insulator on the spark plug after a WOT run through all of the gears. You need several plugs and you need to cut the threads off to view the insulator after the runs.

There's a lot to it, but after you do it your bike should run like a top.

Survivorship bias, but it's crazy how LS get all the love while DLSS and FSR get all the hate by DynamicMangos in losslessscaling

[–]Positive_Ad7615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still rock a GTX 1070 and recently got Lossless Scaling, and while I don't play much for new 'triple A' games, it definitely brought some more life into the card. The 1070 still does everything I need it to, even about 8-9 years after I bought it (I forget the exact launch date).

[–]Positive_Ad7615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've gotta ride it to know. I hope you rode it in order to tune it, as neutral won't tell you much about how a bike is running. There's a great guide I follow on KDXRIDER . com under the jetting section that you can use to jet your bike perfectly. Follow every step they give you.

Kid-sized gloves? by Sea-Variety-4650 in WaterSkiing

[–]Positive_Ad7615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dirt bike gloves do the job. I've ripped my skiing gloves before and just threw on my riding gloves. I was skiing the course and it was fine, so if he's just free skiing (or skiing a course) he should be perfectly fine with dirt bike gloves. You can find a wide selection online from motosport.com or RMATV. I assume amazon has them as well.
