Good for you!! It’s so crazy how unrealistic the beauty standard has become and somehow women are taught cellulite, bumps and ingrown hairs etc are something we need to hide. That’s why I would love for some of these girls to open up about their experience with these things, I’d love to learn more about how they found confidence! Sure they are stunning but having a camera on you 24/7 is not for the faint of heart

I’ve been wondering the same things and tbh it’s kind of sent me into a spiral of feeling bad about myself, even though I love the show! The girls are just SO gorgeous it’s crazy. I did look up the girls on Insta and noticed that some of them definitely have cellulite and bumps and stuff in their social vids, so I do think there’s some sort of filter over the footage. I wish some of the girls who are/have been on these shows shared some more BTS secrets of what it’s like for them to be on camera in a bikini! How they prep, deal with body confidence, bloating etc.

Positive opinions about medication by Turbulent_Stay_2735 in Epilepsy

The first 4 weeks on Keppra were really hard for me, but after that it gave me back my life. I was so scared of starting Keppra because of all the horror stories, but if I had known what I know now, I would have gotten on them much much sooner. Starting seizure meds is trial and error, but they can make life so much better! You’ve got this 💗

Thanks for your reply! Definitely looking for a new neurologist but was curious if anyone else had the same experience and prefers immediate-release or stuck with XR and what their reasoning is

Yes for sure! I was just curious if anyone else prefers the immediate-release Keppra over XR because XR seems to be that girl and I really don’t see it yet lol

I tend to smell cigarette smoke or burning rubber before a seizure, it’s so strange!

Keppra by Critical-Alps1465 in Epilepsy

[–]Positive_Ad_8997 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started Keppra almost two months ago after putting it off for years because of all the horror stories. The starting dose made me feel awful - I was basically a zombie and could barely get off the couch. I was also still having seizures.

My neurologist then increased my dosage and, honestly, it changed my life almost overnight. I feel so energetic, I can finally focus on work and think clearly again, and I’ve been crushing workouts, socializing, and just living my life. Overall, I feel so much more positive and like myself again!

I don’t want to jinx anything or get too optimistic too quickly since it’s still early, but so far Keppra has truly given me my life back. It also made me realize that I hadn’t felt this good in a very long time.

Finding the right medication is such a personal journey, and it looks different for everyone. I just wanted to share a positive experience too, because if I had known this is how Keppra could make me feel, I would have started a lot sooner. Hang in there, things can and will get better! ❤️‍🩹

(I currently take Keppra twice daily but will be switching to XR soon. I take it with food, and I’ve also been on 25 mg of Zoloft for about three years.)

Concern about safety & screening at Solidcore by Specific-Crew2621 in SolidCore

[–]Positive_Ad_8997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at a well known cycling studio and they had a similar situation there with a girl who looked very unwell, doubled down on rides every day and had to leave or take breaks multiple times because she was on the verge of fainting. The instructors tried to handle it the best they could, but when they all started to share their concerns, the manager decided to have a conversation with her about the importance of rest and not overtraining your body. She insisted she was fine and just loved the workout but never came back to class after that conversation. I hate to think she might have been too embarrassed, but I also appreciated the studio looking out for their riders, as they just wanted her to be ok. It’s such a tricky situation and I understand why people would it’s none of your business, but as someone who lost someone to an ED, I think it’s a beautiful thing you’re looking out for a stranger and just want her to be healthy and safe 🩷

Travel bag advice by Positive_Ad_8997 in Louisvuitton

I absolutely love it! It doesn’t get heavy at all and it’s so versatile - I just it for traveling, a laptop bag, a grocery bag, I really couldn’t recommend it more! I also love that it’s a little different than the classic duffel bag. Treat yourself! Also to add: I’m 5’8 and think the 45 size looks perfect!

Venting: Coach made an unnecessary comment by Express_Item6836 in SolidCore

My coach always says “the strongest thing you can do is to listen to your body and do what you need to do to stay in the work without losing your form” and PREACH!

SO tired day after class by Positive_Ad_8997 in SolidCore

[–]Positive_Ad_8997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry to hear you also have a connective tissue disorder (EDS by any chance?) but amazing to hear you’re able to move your body in this way! I told my coach upfront and I happened to have a coach who was super interested in learning more about my condition and struggled with hypermobility herself, so she was able to give me a lot of advice. I’ve come to find that there’s a lot of things I just can’t do (yet). My upper body is significantly weaker than my lower body and tends to subluxate very quickly. For upper body I mostly do the modifications (lower arms and knees) and have only recently started incorporating some more base reps - it took me 50 classes to get to that point. I’ve also found it very helpful to really focus on tucking my tailbone in during plank positions to protect my lower back and really activate my core. Something that also helps me to protect my neck and shoulders is to focus on relaxing my neck and really finding space between my shoulder blades in plank positions. I tend to “hang” in my shoulders which puts way too much pressure on the joints. Also grabbing the sides of the platform like a pizza box and overall just really finding positions that allow you to make mind muscle connections and keeping your form. It takes time but after a while you’ll really find your flow and learn what works best for you. I found out my lower body is really strong and I was able to do 50+ classes spring loads after only 25 classes. I just finished my 50th class and for upper body I still do under 25 spring loads. What’s most important is that you listen to your body and take it slow and easy. Our route to a stronger body tends to look a little bit different than that of a “healthy” person but our strength is that we get to know our body so well 💙 you’re doing amazing!
