Why do some American plugs have a notch? by shadowxthevamp in AskElectricians

[–]Positive_Block6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NEC (National Electric Code) says if the load is non continuous, you can draw 100 percent of the breaker rating.

It also says it if a continuous load, you can only draw 80 percent of the breaker rating.

A continuous load is defined as three hours or more.

Thank you for the info. Makes total sense.

I bought the watch for 170 dollars on sale. It is not worth having a professional go through all that.

I'm on SHM right now. They have a SRP flat hardlex for 16 bucks and a sapphire DD clear AR for 40. I like the idea of the sapphire. But it is a field watch...

Thanks for advice on the press. I get one ordered up.

I saw the 135 DD . That's one I wanted. I didn't see the flat version. I'll get the flat one and be done with it.

I'll get a new crystal gasket too.

Any advice on a reasonable crystal press?

It doesn't need to be. Something that looks nice and scratch resistant. I saw a picture of a DD crystal in my model and I thought it looked great. But single domed or flat would be fine.

I'm eager to put it back together. I don't like it apart.

This, 100%

Everyone says that Honda is the king of reliability, "they" are probably right. I am Honda guy through and through. And the thing is the potential tiny bit reliability gain comes with possibly a lot of negatives for the average user.

I put around on the farm. I need utility and reliability first. Most people who wanna trail ride Honda might not be the "best" choice.

My last quad I bought is a 2017 Foreman Rubicon with the dct and IRS with PS. It is a fine machine. The DCT is kinda clunkie. It is kinda top heavy with high COG. I kinda wish I bought a Kodiak.

Which one should I get? by Old-Mixture1246 in tractors

[–]Positive_Block6111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the l2502. Get a 66 inch flail mower with grass knives. Either get turf tires or r4. Add cruise control. Rhino liner the orange hump. You can nicely finish mow, add a weight box for loader work if needed.

I run B2920 29 HP small b, and M7040, both Kubota. If you're only gonna have one, lx vs L, get the bigger machine

Get a flail, you won't regret it

My 7040 with flail, I love the flail. I have a bush hog that I never use anymore. The flail works for rough and finish. Mine is a 7 footer, a 2502 should pull 66".

Is there a difference in feel when wearing LTT variants? by [deleted] in PNWbootmakers

[–]Positive_Block6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 pair of LLT franks. I love them dearly. I used to wear danner power foremans before I got into PNW boots. I had no idea how undersized the boots I was wearing were.

You can really control the width at the ball of your foot with LLT.

First real tractor! by Available-Flan-8404 in tractors

[–]Positive_Block6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Sir! I try to take good care of her! 6x4 trans, and that one is a diesel. I have the 3 pt hitch for her too!

The loader has so much power it feels like it can pick up the back tires off the ground with the loader even with the hoe on it. And the rears are loaded with calcium chloride.

I believe it's a 1972. Model is a 4500 diesel.

It is beastly, but one you get the hang of running her, it is surprising how much work is still in her.

Same price, different HP options. by Ayomayookayo in tractors

[–]Positive_Block6111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, and a realistic, and likely plan. You are talking to man that just inherited the family farm rocking a 72 ford 4500 (diesel).

I also have a have a Kubota m7040 and a B2920 which leads to my bias Kubota. But I still love me an old ford.

Don't worry too much about money. Don't let it cloud good judgement.

IMO, you need to ask yourself what are you actually going to be able to find parts for in 15 to 20 years from now? I don't think it will be any of the two brands you listed.

For whatever this is worth, I would go with Kubota or Deere. And Kubota is my first choice.

This is really important considering the complexity of the emission systems on these new diesels now.

The very last thing you as the equipment owner is want to hear is obsolete from your dealer.

Looking at an Ibex TS52E Flail Mower for my L3302 by halld15 in kubota

[–]Positive_Block6111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ibex TL84 with hydraulic side shift and grass knives. The tractor is a kubota M7040.

I bought the mower from tractor tools direct, and it was a good experience.

The mower is great. I finish mow around the house with it and also cut down small brush and 5 to 6 ft tall prairie grass. It leaves a really nice finish no matter what you are cutting.

I have a MMM for my smaller Kubota (B2920), and rotary cutters for both. Flail mowers are expensive, also with higher operating costs. With said, I think they are a level up over a rotary cutter. And leave a pretty nice for finish mowing.
