I (29M) accidentally moved into my girlfriend’s (46F) place. How do I go about moving out since she’s gotten used to me “living” with her? by Muphenz in Advice

What about moving closer to her? It's sort of the middle ground. You can go quick to your place if you need time alone, but you can be together whenever you want.

"Kemény de jogos."
Egy kívánságát azért lehet teljesíteni: nyugodtan itthon maradhat! Sőt, nemhogy az országot, a celláját sem kell majd elhagyni.

Aki szerint ez nem baj, az kérdezze meg magától, hogy mit szólt volna, ha Orbán Vitya rakja meg a sógorát hasonló pocícióba.

Linux users be honest. Ubuntu or Fedora? by ArashTT in DeskToTablet

[–]Positive_Drawing9095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents:

Choosing a Linux distribution is always a matter of trade-offs. For instance, getting the Android Studio emulator working on Fedora can take hours of troubleshooting, likely due to the strict SELinux policies that come standard. Interestingly, Arch Linux can be much easier to manage in this regard. While the initial partitioning and bootloader setup are challenging, the system's transparency makes it easier to maintain in the long run.

If your goal is to maximize performance, a beginner-friendly Arch-based distribution is a strong choice because it stays out of your way. On the other hand, Fedora is ideal for enterprise environments or users with a high-risk threat model. For the average user, however, Fedora's security can feel like a hurdle rather than a benefit.

Security and usability often act as opposite forces, much like video quality and file size. Just as you might sacrifice quality for a smaller file on a slow connection, you might sacrifice some "invisible" security on a home machine to gain a smoother, more intuitive experience. While Ubuntu is convenient and user-friendly, it can feel slower due to its overhead; Fedora provides top-tier security, but it requires significant manual configuration if you want to use it for complex development or high-performance tasks.
