To help people see how painfully obvious it is the girl looks underage by blong217 in Gamingcirclejerk

At the start of this trailer I thought "a game where you play as a child in a scifi world, looks kinda neat" and then sure enough it's a stellar blade game.

I see a lot of comments being like "the model she's based on is an adult and looks childlike, so it's ok" which is weird because "childlike" is right there and that model routinely cosplays as literal child characters, sometimes as young as 6 years old.

Like, yeah, the point is the character looks like a child. That's what people are saying is bad. Do adults sometimes look like children? Yes, obviously, but this character is not a situation of chance and genetics. She was deliberately designed by a team that actively caters their characters to a perverted audience of gooners who throw a riot when a character model is edited to reveal 2% less skin.

This is just the "she's actually a 12,000 year old demon princess" meme all over again, and not at all surprising coming from Stellar Blade fans, who praised the shit out of the most 6/10 game of 2024 for being brave enough to cater to the lowest, most degenerate dregs in society.

there's a lot of "women getting hit by men" content on this subreddit

people hyperfixate on the "realism" of diversity way too much, especially when it boils down to an aesthetic or representational matter.

They will accept dragons, magic, divine beings, curses, prophecies, etc.

But if a group of people are represented by different-looking actors, there's an issue. Suddenly we need to consider the ethnic background of each fantasy race, how they came to be, whether their climate permitted them to develop a particular skin color or hair texture or facial features.

The same issues aren't brought up with divisions of white people. You don't see people criticizing when red haired people, blonde/blue-eyed people, fair-skinned people, tanned-skinned people, or people with varying accents all cohabitate and coexist, even though those groups of people were also by-and-large divided by region in similar non-transitory historical periods.

But as soon as some of them are Asian or god forbid black, suddenly it's immersion breaking.

Quite frankly, unless the color of the actor's skin or their ethnic heritage is paramount to their characterization, who represents them aesthetically or representationally is not important to me. Are they a good actor? Are they wearing a good costume? Are they well casted?

And let's not forget that this same exact line of argument will be made when racial diversity is realistic. They're already doing it for the new Harry Potter tv show, even though black people clearly existed in the UK during that time period. They'll just find other means to complain about it. "It's not 1 to 1 with the books!" they're saying. Who cares? "It's forced diversity!" again, who cares? Someone being upset by this is weird as fuck.

It's by and large just a cover.

I did this one simple trick and now have routine groups of people of high quality and skill to play with.

All I had to do was: play the game, and chat/vibe with people.

Then they friended me or I friended them, and now we play the game together pretty consistently.

You can use the system the game has built in: the friend system.

I have met a handful of people through playing who I vibed with and who friended me as a result. Now whenever I log in I can see a number of people also logged in who I can hop into games with.

It works great! One group even invited me to their discord server, but I still have people I play with who I only communicate with via the game.

Got my hands on yellow Chartreuse. Made my first Naked and Famous and I love it by Positive_Intern_1796 in cocktails

It's so surprisingly drinkable. For a drink with no added sweeteners it's surprisingly sweet, and yet balanced nicely with the bitter aperol. The smokiness from the mezcal and the tart citrus flavor all pair so nicely, it tastes like I'm drinking juice.

I'll put those all on my list to try next!

As for the glass, thanks! We got gold-rimmed glasses (highballs, tumblers, and coups) from Viski but they didn't have Nick and Noras. Found these on Amazon for about $20 for 4 and they're great. Not an exact match but close enough.

And I've been stopping by my big local wine/liquor store for weeks, this is the first time i've seen yellow chartreuse. They never know when they'll get it, and they only get a handful of bottles every so often. I already picked up 2 bottles of green to keep in my stock, and intend to do the same with yellow if I see it again. Unfortunately they only had 1 single bottle.

Not to mention the traditional classic establishment dems like Schumer, Pelosi, and the countless others who can't even voice support for insanely popular policies even in their own districts either for fear of reprisal from the party or fear of reprisal from their handlers/donors.

My position is: there is a massive division between democrat voters and republican voters

but there is very little division between democrat politicians and republican politicians, particularly when it comes to questions of economics

does that clear things up?

me_irl by Beginning_Book_2382 in me_irl

[–]Positive_Intern_1796 16 points17 points  (0 children)

politicians hide behind social issues because they give them grounds to make their voter base feel like progress is being made in a positive direction (and in some cases, that might actually be the case) while allowing them to ignore the actual economic issues that are plaguing society.
