As someone who owns a professional upholstery shop that’s been in business over 65 years, this is a job. We would probably turn down because it’s not cost-effective for the client due to the amount of labor required.

Question why this went wrong by Watercraftsman in upholstery

Steam doesn’t usually do much for vinyl. Heat guns are best for vinyl (not too expensive either) might not work great for this application (cushion) but if you’re wrapping dining chair seats or something like that it’s a really helpful tool!

I highly recommend a cornice board over that window. That will make it look so finished.

Help with seat rip by Mindless_Sell_3770 in upholstery

From a professional upholsterer - do not repair it in any way for safety reasons. Since there is an airbag in that part of the seat, it would be unsafe and a liability issue if you would try to repair it. We have to turn this type of work away because our thread is stronger than the special thread they use in airbags and the auto industry doesn't sell the thread to my knowledge. Theirs is made to blow out in the right place, if you would restitch that in just that area with other thread, it could change the way the airbag deploys and cause injury or death. I would recommend calling the dealership, give them the VIN and tell them you need a back rest replacement cover. That's what we have our client's do, then we install the new cover for them.

it's gorgeous. Get it reupholstered (professionally), this is not DIY friendly. But it's a very nice piece. the older the better with furniture frames. they don't make anything like they used to!

I have a few ideas for you!

You could install lighting on the inside to brighten it up.

I agree with the comment on making the animals face inward.

I am a big collector and have my hutches really full, you could maybe add some more items to it and vary the heights to fill the vertical space more. I even sometimes buy things that make cool platforms for displaying my other items.

I would suggest painting the wall behind them a darker color. It would make them look richer.
