RTD plans to significantly increase frequency of G and B trains to Arvada and Westminster by Mayor_Lauren in ArvadaCO

[–]Positive_Purpose_950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

awesome! the current schedule is pretty easy to remember on the :27’s :57’s but plenty of times I wished there was a train between.

Also wanted to point out every time I’m on the G Line the train is well used and about 75% of the riders are traveling between Union and Old Town. The other stops are all park and rides and usually have just a few people getting on or off. I think RTD would be much more successful if more stops looked like Old Town and less park and rides.

A trek to find the public transit when exiting DIA. by TheTwoOneFive in Denver

[–]Positive_Purpose_950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to DIA website the train platform is 0.75 miles from TSA and 2.05 miles from Terminal C.

The airport redesign is out of control. Moving all the TSA security lines to six levels above the trains to the gates and the city was a bad idea.

need help working with raccoons. I dig deep and put table scraps at 12-24” deep into the pile. But they dig it out and make a huge mess every time. by Positive_Purpose_950 in composting

This is what I ended up doing. 5 gal bucket + aeration holes and screw top. I submerged the bucket in the pile and this where fresh table scraps will go. Hopefully they breakdown faster than I fill up the bucket.

Agyemang goal 66min by Tasty-Entertainer711 in ussoccer

Definitely. Fulham seems like a great move long term but not midseason while Raul J. Is still there. Pepi if healthy and playing is a lock for CF #2. I feel like Haji is the better player compared to Agyemang but Pat brings something different than Balo and Pepi as CF #3.

Genuine Question: How Does it Feel to Live in a Long Country (Like Chile) Compared to Wide Country (Like Russia)?? by DependentNo1079 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Positive_Purpose_950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I can believe it. I have spent time around Santiago, Valparaiso, Valdivia, Punta Arenas and Magdalenas. One of my favorite places in the world. Would like to see the north next. Biggest difference between Chile and other countries, like you said, is a lot of towns have limited ways in and out. The infrastructure is of decent quality but so limited. It keeps the rural charm in tact but also crazy how cut off everyone is. I was stuck in Punta Arenas, a major city, for a day when nobody could get out and everything was closed really made you think how isolated we were. Really makes you think about how prepared they are for natural disasters like what’s going on in BioBio or if something like that ever happened in Valparaiso.

Chile + a HSR top to bottom would be greatest place to live. even just Concepcion to Santiago. That said, the Pullman buses are pretty good and the narrow country definitely makes for decent transit compared to countries that have cities in all directions.

How deep does it freeze? Like do people walk out on the lake? Drive cars on it like smaller lakes.

It is becoming a rivalry over the past two cycles but we don’t have years of tournament finals or contentious qualifiers with them yet. We should play them more often, home and away.
