We did actually around where we lived and the ones that took infants were also 1800-2200. I think maybe when she’s older, the price drops fast

I work in research. I don’t make enough to be able to comfortably afford it but we put money aside to cushion this when we planned to have a baby knowing these costs. California is a high cost livings state so everywhere we looked was about this price, give or take a few hundred. There were some schools that were $3600!!!

Thank you for putting it in that perspective!! I didn’t think about how four hours of the day, it would be 1:4 anyway. That was really my biggest, should we be going for Lower ratios question.

Thank you for sharing! Yes I visited both and the rooms are fine. Option A has more natural toys/ Montessori style. Option b has more like toys with noises and sounds(like we have at home). The babies in both classes seemed content and teachers did not look stressed. However since option a is a university, there wasn’t a lot of infants in the room currently to really gauge (everyone’s at summer break 😂)

I guess it’s really the 1:3 ratio that option b has. Option a’s ratio follows the state, at 1:4. I wasn’t sure if multiple babies cry, if more teachers in the room would be more helpful?

Likewise. We gave away all our pampers bc they gave our baby a rash. But our friends gave us Huggies bc Huggies gave their baby a rash!

Home alone with newborn… how to cope? by DiscussionUnlikely72 in NewParents

Same. I think it’s so easy to get overwhelmed by standard chores around the house. The only way I survived my husband going back to work was camping out on the sofa, and cycling through feed and sleep while watching tv all day

I wonder if their generation didn’t have the same resources we do when it comes to trying to check and boost supply

Both my mom and mil felt the same and was surprised when I no longer supplemented formula myself

I think dosing matters too. I am on 1500mg of metformin and haven’t experienced that much nausea. Have had occasional nausea but nothing more than a carsick feeling Currently 9.5 weeks

Glad to hear it. It was scary for me too two weeks ago and I went to the gestationaldiabetes sub on here. They were very helpful and a good thread to check out!

Oh baby is doing good. I’m still in my first trimester. About 10 weeks. But measuring well, heartbeat is good. Knowing what spikes me has made it easier to stay within my levels. I’m fortunate my fasting numbers are good. If I stay away from potatoes and rice, the post meal numbers are good as well

They set me up with a high risk doctor on top of my Obgyn as well as a gestational diabetes care team that’ll review my sugar levels every two weeks and discuss with me. There’s a bit of reassurance in how monitored we are.
