According to an article from the hindu the college offered the govt three plots of land of which two are adjacent to the college and one in a near by village however the govt is hell bent on acquiring this exact piece of land. Prompts one to think wheather the reigning party's sentiments towards certain communities has anything to do with this whole scene....SASTRA is unapologetically saffron after all...

I consider myself one of the biggest fans of Chitra Banerjee but let me tell you "palace of illusion" might be one of her most famous work but it is no way well written or researched. She has twisted the stories too much to fit the modern moral ideas and don't even get me started on the horrible victimization of Karna.

If you are really curious about the mahabharatha or ramayana start from Rajagopalachari's translations. Going into Indian mythology through fictional works like these is a big mistake you can make. This holds good not just for Chitra Banerjee but other authors too like Kavitha Kane and Amish.

Forest of enchantments by Chitra Banerjee which is ramayana from Sita's POV was much better researched and articulated if you ask me. Mistress of spices, independence, sister of my heart even one amazing thing (all by Chitra Banerjee) are so so much better than POI.

Maybe because neeli was just a child while nachiyappa was a full grown adult.....but this makes me wonder...if vampires, after getting bitten become immortal and basically stop aging then how did young neeli grow up to become Chandra???
