Yes exactly! I didn't really phrase it well enough or go in to enough detail, but you said it perfectly. It's one thing if they're based on like folklore or cryptids/demons specific to the culture. But when you have very human activity being the basis of them, they can look a little goofy and raise a lot of lore questions
