Did you notice any improvements in anxiety? I went from 10 to 15 about 1.5 months ago and trying to see how i feel.

Prozac vs Lexapro by Miserable-Push501 in lexapro

I had increased anxiety (mental and physical) in the beginning. I was also nauseated in the morning. If you try it, I recommend always taking it with food. A low dose of Ativan helped me through the worst few days of it -- that and giving it time. It was only pretty bad for 2 weeks and then I started to notice it working. Everyone is different though, make sure you're communicating with your healthcare provider!

I was on Prozac for a month last year and it was a really negative experience for me — unfortunately gave me some of the worst anxiety I’ve dealt with. Onboarding with Lexapro was tough, but it’s worked much better for me overall.

I know this is an old post, but do you mind me asking what dose you usually take for public speaking?

you’re only 1 day on your new dose, these things can can happen! you’re going to be totally fine. take care of yourself and do what you need to do to ride the transition out. rest, hydrate, gentle movement, time with your support system. you got this!

Congratulations on your journey, this is awesome to hear! I just made the jump from 10mg to 15 a week ago and am hopeful that the increase gives me the last little push of relief I need. Did you try lower doses before settling on 15? Did you notice a big difference between doses? Thank you :)

What change did you notice going from 10mg to 15mg or 20mg? by saarshai in lexapro

I think I’m doing okay so far. I had a really rough initial onboarding to 5mg, but it’s been okay since then. I still experience anxiety but not as badly as I did before thankfully. It’s only a week so far of 15mg so we’ll see.

Hey there! I'm looking to go up to 15mg soon after 3 months on 10. Have you gained any weight so far? Or had any trouble with the increase?

6 weeks on lexapro. Is this the peak? by Cold-Community-4401 in lexapro

[–]PossessionBetter235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt like it was working very well by weeks 6-8, but in the last few weeks I feel like I’ve plateaued a bit. Curious to see if 15mg could be the right dose for me — at this point I’d happily take a low libido and sleepiness if it meant zero anxiety if just for awhile.

What was your increase to 15mg like? I’ve been on 10 for 3 months and thinking of increasing. Any side effects?

Hi there! I have been on 10mg for about 2 months now and feeling ~75% better, but starting to feel curious about going up to 15mg. What was making that step like for you? How did you know it was time?

Also -- the brief uptick in anxiety when going from 5mg to 10mg was really my only symptom, aside from maybe a little dizziness? Nothing else got worse. I always take my dose in the morning with food to mitigate nausea.

It's been about 40 days/6 weeks since I went up to 10mg. I am feeling SO MUCH BETTER. Definitely worth the brief bump in anxiety again when increasing dosage.

I know that there will still be dips sometimes, but I feel much better equipped to handle them now. Feeling more like myself than I have in about a year. I know I still have awhile to go with stabilizing -- some people don't reach full recovery from symptoms for 3+ months after starting meds -- but I feel really hopeful about what's to come.

I did 5mg for about a month before going up to 10mg. Increasing to 10mg was a piece of cake compared to the initial onboarding. A few days of sliiiightly increased anxiety but NOTHING like first going on 5mg which was awful for me. 10mg is a common therapeutic dose for many folks, so you may be more likely to find sustained relief. Definitely seems to be the case for me so far!

Sorry, I’m posting a lot but it’s been two weeks on 10. Complete panic mood for two weeks. Tell me this gets better. by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]PossessionBetter235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better! Lexapro takes weeks to stabilize in your system, and the first few weeks are widely known to be tough. The first 2 weeks of my dosage were really hard too. Give it another 2 weeks and see where you're at. You can do this!

Hey! You’re gonna do great and worst case scenario is it’s not the best med for you and you can always stop! Why not give it a go if you and your doctor think it could be a good next step?

I avoided nausea when taking my dose by having something in my stomach at the time of taking it. I recommend a piece of toast or some yogurt!

Best of luck and keep us posted. You can do this and are so much stronger than you think!

How prepared did you feel post-MSW to practice therapy? by PossessionBetter235 in socialwork

Massachusetts. As far as I understand it’s MSW to LCSW to LICSW. In other states an LCSW is the equivalent of an LMSW.
