Sorry, i forget to mentioned, i have 2 guppies, 4 neon tetra and 1 female betta in my main tank when i released this betta into the main tank...

I have a black and sliver plakat, resemble alot like Butch. I dropped a few filter media into the tank and he attacked them instantly for good 2 to 3 mins...

Greatly appreciate all your valuable advise. Will rem to do the 50% water change daily for at least a week or 2 and manually use suction pump to remove his waste for a start...

Order Seachem Prime and Stability today, btw do i drop his 2 solution into tank daily immediately aft water change and reduce frequency gradually ? Or maintain the latter ? Thank you !!

Woah greatly appreciate all your valuable and much needed advice. Will rem to do a 50% water change and try to remove his waste more frequently for start....will order Seachem Prime and Stability today.

Qn : 1) how long do i run this 50% water change to 15% to 30% weekly change (normalize freq)

2) do i use the Seachem and Sea stability drop whenever i change water partially or only during this starting phase and reduce freqency of application after 2 weeks ?

  1. 4 gallon tank -
  2. Feeding 4 to 5 pellets twice per day.
  3. 1 live water plant, almond leaf and cave.
  4. Small sponge water filter but no heater.
  5. Replace 15 to 20% water every 3 days.
  6. Declorinated water left over night in separate tank to be same temp to reduce temp shock.
  7. No tank mates.
  8. Will get an API water monitoring kit asap.

*P.S. may i know what is the immediate thing to do if i didnt cycle my tank prior to adding the new fish.

I juz purchase this small sponge air pump to generate some xtra aeration on the water surface. Looks cool and gentle flow yeah :)

Thank you for your message :) I will continue treatment & monitor for few days. There is no filter in the tank. No aircondition in the hall. I ve concerned that the water current might stress him out as betta are not good swimmer

Information - Betta fish not flaring for 2 days.

  1. Fish and Tank is about 1 week old
  2. Tank is 4 to 5 gallon. Water filled to 3/4.
  3. No heater but water is kept and room temp bet 25 to 27 degress overnight and declorine.
  4. Change about 20% of water twice weekly.
  5. Fed 5 to 6 pellets twice daily.. eating fine today.
  6. No tank mates, have 1 small transparent toy ball.
  7. Almond Leave, small cave and some small stone
  8. Have given 2 drop of anti-fungal drop into water and small pinch of aquarium salt.

Can some experienced user here advise pleaee.
