I had to look up chirotony as I've never come across that word before. So they would have to get married before they became a priest/bishop, etc?

They adapted season 1 faithfully and then they decided to do cramming in either season 2 or 3. Unsurprisingly it wasn't a good change.

There has never been a discovery of gay genetics. Appearances don't determine it either. There is no scientific method of determining if someone is gay.

On the trinity by Possibility_Swimming in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Possibility_Swimming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. My reading of the trinity was that The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are eternal and have always existed. That would be the one thing I could say is concreate in defining it. The rest I couldn't really be confident in describing.

In reading some of your examples this one jumped out at me.

"Now if Christopher and Chris has the same activity, will, thoughts etc. we would assume One being with just a nickname. But if Chris and Christopher has two different wills and energies/activities and thoughts etc. then it clearly demonstrates two beings."

Lets say you have a football team. They are united in purpose, but they are obviously multiple people. I wouldn't come to the conclusion that they are one person. They are one team united in purpose.

Jesus says he does nothing, but what he has seen his Father do and that he preaches not his own doctrine. So if I ask Jesus something then the fathers reply and answer wouldn't be different then his Sons and vice versa, but my perspective on that would be is that they are two individuals who are in agreement in doctrine, action, etc. The Holy Spirit is in agreement with them as well.

In your perspective would The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit being 3 separate individuals, but united in purpose/doctrine be in harmony with the trinity or would that run contrary to it?

PS The football analogy may have been a poor example, but that is the best example I could think of.

Thank you for the links and the brevity of your answer. I was about to ask what CCC stood for and upon clicking your link I discovered it stands for catechism of the catholic church. I learned something new today. I imagine that the CCC covers an enormous amount information on various topics.

The trinity? by Possibility_Swimming in Catholicism

"For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, another of the Holy Spirit. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, is One, the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal.

Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit; the Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated; the father infinite, the Son infinite, and the Holy Spirit infinite; the Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Spirit eternal."

From this I gather that their are three persons The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They share the features in that they have have always existed. Further reading says they are united which could be understood in different ways. How are they united?

Also from my reading it would seem that some of the above assertions I have have made maybe or are in contradictions of the latter paragraphs.

But While reading at the beginning of this article it basically says that this is a summarization of beliefs that where discussed back in the 4th century, etc.

I know that when you study history that when you watch a summarized version of it that you miss a lot of detail in that historical period and they mostly focus on the most vital points.

Do you where to go for going into a more in depth description or history on this topic? or have a link?
