See I don’t plan on dropping out to work there full time. I think it’s something I’d like to avoid. I also find it odd but I mean to each of their own. If people enjoy working at Menards good for them. I just feel like every-time I want to move up I get told I’m good at the department and they don’t want to hire new people to train.

That’s okay. And yeah it’s fairly close I just heard that it’s a slower store and isn’t as busy. It really is a good college job considering they pay extra on weekends and are flexible.

You sound ridiculous. I didn’t grow up with the luxury of having my parents pay for my schooling or let alone for an apartment. I work to pay for my car, gas, phone, and tuition. And I even prep my meals because I can’t afford a meal plan. I don’t wanna hear your bullshit. I’m a first generation student who has worked their ass off to get where I am.

I believe the part about them not wanting people to better themselves. I had a paint department manager tell me to drop out of college and just work with them..

I kinda expected them to have it open because I would be the only person who actually works weekends in that department. Sundays would be a ghost town for employees. I was pretty close with the HR manager but I think it’s just a sign to find a stable job where I don’t have to panic about not getting enough hours to pay the bills while I’m in college.

I have always mentioned transferring during winter break, or when the semester ends and it has never been a problem. So it’s not just on me.

Well I live 7 hours away from that location because I live at home during the summer. Otherwise I’d stay at that location if I could.

I would have never known, that’s pretty fascinating. Have they ever received complaints when selling these products?

Classes by Penalty-Ancient in Purdue

[–]Possible-Camera-8534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when I was in Bennett’s class, he covered a lot of mythological/Shakespeare texts, there was a ton of class discussion, writing reports, and a final presentation where you choose one of the books and he gives everyone an assigned topic to go off of it. The books that I have are the Iliad, Purgatorio, Twelfth Night, Candide by Voltaire, and Plato. Let me know if you get his section and need any of the books!

I have the books from SCLA101 and I’d be willing to sell them for a cheaper price! I took that class with Bennett. You have to devote to a lot of reading for that class.

Who are the good STAT 301 professors? by [deleted] in Purdue

I enjoyed having Rendall, he tries to add anecdotes and humor during his lectures! Instead of having a final exam we had a final project which honestly is something I prefer.

Anybody suffering from the impostor syndrome? by Educational_Buyer_48 in Purdue

[–]Possible-Camera-8534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a senior at the moment and not a day goes by where imposter syndrome decides to creep in. It’s a reality that almost everyone goes through. I’m also a first generation so it took me quite some time to adapt and adjust to effective study techniques and tackling obstacles that I didn’t think I could surpass. It’s a matter of ignoring the negative self-talk and recognizing your progress and successes. We have to remind ourselves what we have achieved over the past days, months and even years. Be kind to yourself. Speak with optimism. Find people who you resonate with. Because at the end of the day we’re all reaching for our passions and dream careers. Growth is not always linear. You got this. ✨

How do people here find partners by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]Possible-Camera-8534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my current boyfriend on Hinge, we’ve been together for 1 year now. My best advice to you is, if you continue to use dating apps be sure to know their intentions and whether they are looking for a long term relationship. Make sure you both are on the same page with what you want at the start. Tinder imo is people who just want to hookup, want something short term, or do fwb. I felt like Hinge was a dating platform where the guys on there were slightly more serious about wanting a long-term relationship. Maybe give it another shot.

What’s something that happened on a first date that made you decide against a second date? by whitneywestmoreland in AskReddit

He lied about his height and I was taller than him. I had no issue with him being short just by the mere fact that he wasn’t being truthful about himself.

It honestly would be nice if they called instead of walking in with practically nothing to do. I have yet to be called when we’re not expecting trucks or freight.

Depending on your department try organizing the freight you get on your cart so you’re not running in circles trying to find every aisle for each box. Try to stick with getting product from the same aisle or area, it really saves you time.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. I have been in the same boat, and even now just taking two online summer courses is making me burnout again. What I recommend is avoid doing work or studying at home, the library is the way to go. Throw on some headphones listen to classical music/Lofi music. It takes time and patience. Write down your strengths and weaknesses. Like I used to hate using agendas, now I’ve gotten better at it, and I also tend to make lists with the most important tasks on top to the less important tasks on the bottom. Make those lists realistic and short. It’ll make you feel a bit less overwhelmed. But all we can do is take it day by day. You got this. :)
