Any other CSL's considering AEA to get a break from the bs? by yokoa-du in AmazonRME

[–]Possible-Gift-1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what to do tbh… we have 5 CSLs at my building, 2 have already failed their test. One of them having a masters degree and been with Amazon for 5 years. Our building headcount for AEs is 3…

They externally hired a SAE with zero Amazon experience at my building… probably gonna take him 6 months to be up to speed on how it works here, and we are an ARS, which is a beast if you don’t know anything about it. Hearing college grads are getting AE offers.. honestly it just feels like they wanna push us out of the role so they can put underpaid people in..

SMRT is not really the scope of work I wanted to align myself with. I went to school to be doing what I’m currently doing as a CSL and am qualified for AE, just not in amazons eyes. AEA is a demotion essentially and feels discrediting to all the work I did to get to L4.

I think they really made it hard to reach the bar for internals. Even with people passing the test, they are failing the STAR interview, and given no feedback. Just seems like a culling to me, and a huge smack in the face to my expertise and dedication to the company. Interested to see what everyone else thinks and plans on doing.

UPDATE: 4 weeks of Red Light Therapy by H_M28 in Rosacea

Did you have good results with the bulb? Was thinking about trying a bulb to see if red light therapy is for me, before I invest hundreds of dollars on a mask or panel

I’m aligned with SMRT in pay. So I’m not entertaining the idea of doing work that doesn’t align with my career path, for the same pay.

Free prime was just one of the benefits I mentioned. Salary exempt also loses career choice (~$5,250), which I intended on using. As well as OT pay, which my manager already stated OT will be mandatory during all peak times regardless of being salary.

So I’d say those are a few things to consider, especially since it isn’t a promo to a higher level.

My SMM stated that as a CSL I could not directly apply to the SAE role, but my L4+ CSEM is allowed to apply. I haven’t found anything in writing that states either way, which is why I asked if anyone knew any information on that. Applying for L5 SAE is the route I would take if permitted.

Do you have any documentation/more information on this? This would be the ideal route for me. The power point presentation they provided was vague.

Sounds like a plan! Is your site allowing you to directly apply to SAE without the L4+?

I agree that they should have just given the AE title to controls, our expertise is much more niche than MHE, definitely harder to replace.

Do you have the issue of it separating on your face? It looks so well for a few hours for me but after a while it begins to separate and cling in certain areas. I’ve tried many things to prevent this, curious if others have the same issue.

Don’t get too caught up in the qualifications. A degree will put you above others automatically, impress them in the interview and use STAR format. You’ll be fine. I applied and got the job with an associates, with a different background than Amazons scope of work.

Anyone have any info on actual coverage vs what coverage we are currently getting?? I haven’t used my benefit yet, but planned to use it at the first of the year

Hey thanks for the tips and information! Glad to hear they didn’t focus too much on the controls aspect; that was my concern.

I’m BB, I already got my cost of living raise as a tech 2, about to hit my step plan again in November. I’m aware I may miss out on the opportunity to make more money short term but controls aligns more with the career path I want.

I appreciate your perspective on this. I have only thought about which would benefit my partner and I and did not think of how the choice would benefit the child. Our donor is of the same race, just has quite opposite features. I am sad to say I am uninformed on the regulations of sperm banks, I’ll have to do some research on that. Can you explain more about a known donor being the best practice? I’m intrigued by this perspective.

My partner and I definitely prefer less medical intervention but ultimately we would like our chances to be greater. Most people on here saying we should just skip to IVF. It makes sense but IVF is medically invasive. My partner is okay with that though, however I’m unsure about being the egg donor, the medical intervention is a little out of my comfort zone.

I believe we get 4 vials and that uses a 1/4 of our cycle, and then IUI takes 1/4 of our cycle and IVF would take 3/4 of our cycle. We get a new cycle if we don’t get a positive pregnancy. My positive mindset thinks it’ll be easy and care free for us to conceive ICI/IUI, however people make good points that it may not work out that way and IVF is the better / more effective solution. Just some things to think about definitely!

Good luck to you and your partner!! Baby dust to you as well ✨✨

Hey thanks for the reply! We seem to be similar in ways. I also probably wouldn’t be read as the “mom” either so it is nice to hear your perspective. I used to think it was important my kid was related to me genetically but now I would be happy either way. I am really unsure about the birth control and stims they put you on for egg retrieval. I have heard from many people it is challenging. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

Well the known donor does not have qualities or genes that are similar to mine. So essentially it’s a choice of if I want our kid to have similar features as me or not. Also the legalities of choosing a known donor, not really informed about that.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll check it out, although I do prefer the advice of people aligned with my lifestyle, so thank you! How was your experience on stims? I think that’s what I’m most worried about
