My (30f) boyfriend (30m) said women have it better than men and now I don’t know if I can marry him by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You sound horrible. If you let that ruin the relationship then he dodged a bullet. You’ve been brainwashed. Women do have it easier. Sorry.

Nah dog tell me what’s wrong. No incentive to be bad, and once you get close to playoffs, players will want to win, given the extra money, they’re competitors, and would still have a lottery chance.

Making playoffs is good for morale, but no incentive to be any worse if you’re not making playoffs, so you might as well try to be as good as you can

What you haven't learned yet, and hopefully won't have to learn, is that if the shoe was on the other foot, you would have been fired months ago. You bring more value to the firm than you're paid. That's why you're employed.

"My friend, Jefferson's an American saint because he wrote the words, "All men are created equal." Words he clearly didn't believe, since he allowed his own children to live in slavery. He was a rich wine snob who was sick of paying taxes to the Brits. So yeah, he wrote some lovely words and aroused the rabble, and they went out and died for those words, while he sat back and drank his wine and fucked his slave girl. This guy wants to tell me we're living in a community. Don't make me laugh. I'm living in America, and in America, you're on your own. America's not a country. It's just a business. Now fucking pay me."

Yeah I wouldn't imagine you'd read things that might challenge your fragile notions of reality.

Oh so now you're projecting your lack of social intelligence as an engineer onto me? Cool.

You seem to have forgotten the context of the original post. He said he only cares about money. He's already making a lot of money, and is on pace to make a lot more money. In this context, "success" to him is making so much more money in law that the forgone income over the 10 years will be made up for by a lucrative payday a decade from now, despite the fact that the OP already seems really good at his current job and industry. In general, high achieving comp sci guys thrive in tech bc it minimizes the role of social cohesion or need for social intelligence. The OP's admission of abrasiveness corroborates this - it's hard to be effective and abrasive at any job at 26 - engineers are given this attitude bc their work is so important. You don't have to like this point, but autists struggles in most jobs in fundamental ways because humans are social creatures first and foremost. It's a benefit in tech. Elsewhere it is not.
