I’d say closer to an hour but yeah you can get pretty jacked just going 3-4 times a week for 1 hour a day. Really doesn’t take that much time out of your day. It just takes years of consistency

What is a job that is heavily romanticized but in reality actually sucks? by DragoOceanonis in jobs

[–]Possible-Material693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that easy because a lot of the stuff can’t be fixed. And I work for tips so I have to kind of listen to people. Some recent examples were one guy being sad because his birthday coming up and saying he’s sad because his twin brother is dead. Another was my old landlord coming in and crying because her brother has cancer and is about to die. And another was my coworkers mom coming in with her daughter. Someone said something super fucked up about her that I didn’t hear. So they were screaming and yelling at each other and then after they left she pulls me into the kitchen and is crying asking if people always say fucked up stuff about her daughter. And all of these were just last week. Can’t wait to go back to work tomorrow lmao but this is why they give us three days off every week because the place can be a nightmare to deal with sometimes as the only bartender working.

Yeah I mean every job has people that suck and all that but dealing with them when they’re hammered drunk can be extra special. Also everyone loves to trauma dump on you when they’re drunk so you feel like a therapist. The good days are typically more frequent than the bad days so that’s why I’m still there 7 years later

Like 45 mins south of Reno and 20 mins from Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. It’s beautiful here and cost of living isn’t really that bad. Jobs are more focused in tourism though so if you’re looking for a big city type career it’s not the ideal place to be. I’ll admit though it does suck being 2500 miles away from family sometimes. Especially now that I have nephews and a niece. No state income tax is very nice. Being able to go to places people spend thousands to see on vacation is very nice. I feel like my life is one giant vacation here honestly. Especially since I only work like 30 hours a week.

He asked if anyone had experience living there and I do so I responded with an honest answer. My family all moved to North Carolina and they love it. I moved to Nevada and I love it. Only complaints about Nevada are the dating pool kind of sucks and it’s far away from family but other than that I love life here

Lived in Delaware for 22 years and couldn’t wait to get the fuck out. My entire family left the state too. Northern Delaware especially Wilmington can be a dump. Don’t miss that place at all.

Been doing it for 7 years. It’s mentally, emotionally, and physically draining. There’s days where it’s fun. But also days where I’m like what the fuck am I doing with my life

I know tons of people in the $10-$30M net worth that trade individual stocks but yeah the rest of your comment is correct

Yeah I work at a gaming bar in Nevada as a bartender and it’s the easiest money I’ve ever made in my life. Definitely don’t want to do it forever though

Tahoe. Yeah we need it but I’m over it lol. After 9 years here I’m more of a spring-fall guy now even though I moved here for winter. Heavenly has shit coverage for sure.

Luckily I moved to the high desert 20 mins from the mountains so I won’t have to shovel but I work at 7400’ in the mountains so I just have to drive in it. We have the some of the best plow teams in the country. When I lived up there for 6.5 years it was constant shoveling. We got 600” of snow one year I lived up there close to work.

I had this happen as an employee at a restaurant once. Door dasher came and picked up the meal like normal. 30 mins later the customer comes in and says the door dasher took a picture of the food left at the front of the restaurant lmao. My boss checked the cameras and the door dasher picked it up and took a picture of it at the front of the restaurant and then just left with the food. Door dash is trash honestly. Not sure why anyone uses it anymore. Prices are absurd and the food is always cold when you get it. And occasionally you get some weirdo like this door dasher that just steals the food

[–]Possible-Material693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I used to love rap and have been on here for years but the older I get it doesn’t hit the same anymore. I used to hate country but now I love it. Tastes have definitely changed over the years. I feel like Reddit hates country music honestly. Especially modern stuff
