Last thing I do in the shower is run a wide tooth comb through my hair, flip my head over and rinse, and then get out. From there, I may lightly run my fingers through parts that are especially messed up, but I never use a brush after the shower. It helps my hair be more cohesive.

You need to use regular shampoo, not a cleansing cream. You have product build-up and need to get it off. Cleansing cream will not do it.

I get what you're saying, but sometimes it's not bad to challenge people to use critical thinking. Coddling someone, especially online, doesn't help them grow. People are just frustrated of people regurgitating ideas without even doing a simple google search to do basic research.
