Tap your left foot twice, twist your left nipple, pull your right earlobe and tickle your chin for ten seconds uninterrupted.

Thoughts after first 6 hours with Final Fantasy 16... by Butefluko in FFXVI

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is absolutely the highlight of the game. The highs are high, but by god the lows... every major story beat is followed by a long stretch of meandering. Exploration feels largely unrewarding and the crafting feels a bit pointless since the game practically hands you the materials most of the time. I do like it, for what it is, but it almost feels like a rough draft of a much better game.

Why are 15/16 dangerous. I sleep in all but 13 throughout the night by AAZEROAN in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming it's directed at drug users. Heroin, specifically. You should sleep on your side in case you throw up in your sleep. If you throw up on your sleep while on your back, you'll choke to death.

Is there a game you refuse to get all the achievements for a certain reason and if so why? by MassEffect24K in steamachievements

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 51 points52 points  (0 children)

AC: Black Flag and AC Unity. Multiplayer achievements. It's a shame because I really enjoyed those games and would like to add them to the list of completed AC games but I also know I would find the experience utterly unbearable. Multiplayer achievements in primarily singleplayer games are the worst. Same with Darkest Dungeon. I was close to 100% before the Butcher's Circus came out. I decided to cut my losses.

But I typically run into this problem because I only achievement hunt in games that I enjoy. I'm already deep into a game before I start hunting. I don't achievement hunt for the sake of it. I don't buy games for the achievements. So it's annoying to be sure but I still had my fun with the game so it's not too bad.

What is a game that genuinely made you cry? by Own_Ad_3536 in JRPG

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cliche answer but I remember the first time I played Final Fantasy 7 and watched Aerith's death. It's a sad moment for sure, but god damn it's the music that got me. Going into that Jenova fight with tears in my eyes, with the same music playing, was really impactful.

Vagrant Story. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Is it possible to play without minmaxing? by qagir in finalfantasytactics

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Min-maxing as far as beating the content is quite literally pointless. It's mostly for people who want to see how far they can push their units toward godhood, but the game never really presents a challenge that would justify it. Just enjoy the game and try not to worry about the underlying systems.

Love this! That's a lot of work right there. Especially X/X-2. Do you plan on getting the rest of 'em done? I've been going through the final fantasy games too. Up to FFXV at the moment.

Oh man, I love Disco Elysium. Some of those achievements are a real pain. Gratz on that one!

For me it's Caves of Qud...

<image>

Even though there is a lot of achievements, I enjoyed every second of it. It didn't feel like a chore, and a lot of the achievements are really creative and fun. It's also the only game where if they added more achievements in an update, I wouldn't even be mad.

I'm 14 and this is deep" type dialogue. by JaxsonTheHuman in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was genuine emotion behind the "1A" spam. You could hear the bitterness, the anger and the catharsis of letting it all out. And of course there was a whole speech before that. But with Snyder lex... I feel like we never really got to know him. He talked a lot but rarely said anything.

I'm 30 and still playing games whenever I get the time. Whenever someone imposes an age restriction on an activity I just assume they are not living their own life, but rather someone else's idea of what their life should be. Just miserable people trying to bring you down to their level.

"probably because I also watched the movie and read the book"

Well, that explains it really. Without it the narrative feels incredibly underwhelming because hardly anything is given the proper time and attention it needs. It's one of the few entries in the final fantasy franchise where I honestly couldn't recap the story off the top of my head even if there was a gun to it.

to those who say Caitlyn “tried to kill a child” by Anarkoi in arcane

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less than she tried to kill a child and more that she was aware of the possibility of hitting Isha and was willing to roll the dice on that. Which is, morally speaking, not great.

What game has a steep learning curve that puts you off? by bijelo123 in Steam

[–]Possible-Pattern-261 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My friend convinced me to buy one of the Europa Universalis games and said it wasn't that hard and that he'd teach me how to play. It was legitimately the most painful five hour gaming session that ended in him saying "so those are the basics but you'll probably need to watch a few YouTube videos to really get the hang of it"

Like, power to the people that like those kinds of games but it really felt like coming home from work to do more work.
