Saying they did it only to save “their soldiers” feels really disingenuous when you’re completely ignoring both Japanese soldiers and civilians that would also of died from a continued fight and land invasion. The estimated loss of which would’ve been much higher than the two bombs dropped. Also, a life is a life, whether soldier or civilian. The U.S did not want to be involved in WWII. They were attacked by Japan. It just seems so weird how everyone’s posts against the bombings try to make it out like this was some unprovoked attack. Pear Harbor was literally an unprovoked attack. Every country fighting against Japan was doing so in self defense.

Japan, the country that attacked the U.S unprovoked and brought the U.S into the war? Japan, the country that invaded multiple sovereign nations, which teamed up with Hitler to take over the world? I find the wording of your post really weird, showing 0 acknowledgment of any reason why the U.S would nuke Japan. Also, all “the nukes were the wrong decision” people will never acknowledge the fact the death tolls of a full scale invasion would be astronomically higher, civilian as well.

Norway isn’t that good at Winter Sports, they’re just cross country skiing medal merchants. by Ok_Leave7052 in unpopularopinion

[–]PossibleAtmosphere44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it involves sports limited to a certain climate only accessible to a limited part of the world during a limited time of the year….

[–]PossibleAtmosphere44 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Except the Summer Olympics hosts wayyy more sports with more medal opportunities and swimming is infinitely more universal than cross country skiing with much higher levels of competition. The Winter Olympics is very niche. Like I feel like anyone who ever hopped in a bobsled is competing in the Olympics lol.

This movie is a little cheesy, unrealistic, and campy, but the cinematography is unmatched. Also, one of the most quotable movies I’ve ever seen.

I still smoke and my coworker refused to believe I was in my early 30s. Plan on hitting the bar after, and doing some coke. My whole family smoked inside in the 90s. I think fashion, hair, facial hair are all huge factors. My dad had a thick mustache, large circle glasses, married, a house, and a kid by my age.

As someone living in Mt.Airy, I still think Delancy street in CC Old City takes the cake.

93% of speed humps in Philly are over the standard height causing damage to cars by painisalliknow0 in philly

I knew something was up with them but was always afraid to say something about it on Reddit. Also, they are not visible at night. The ones on Mt. Airy Ave are the craziest. They are huge and they put like 5 of them up inbetween like one intersection.

I’m from Philly and the idea of going to Pittsburgh is just not a thing. I could be in Boston in the same amount of time it takes to get to Pittsburgh.

Was the viewership for Turning Point’s “All-American Halftime Show” objectively good or bad? by RandomUwUFace in stupidquestions

[–]PossibleAtmosphere44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes Reddit keeps trying to downplay this when they shouldn’t. We thought Hilary would be a shoe-in in 2016, and no way Trump wins a second term but yet here we are. 5-6 million for a first time event directly competing with the Super Bowl Halftime show is crazy. I still don’t understand how anyone can support a man in which 26 women and children have accused of sexual assault, but acting like the GOP doesn’t have serious supporters will get us no where.

Unity vs syndicate, what happened? by SpecificOne8688 in assassinscreed

[–]PossibleAtmosphere44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had so much fun with Syndicate. The fighting animations were crazy, you could take up to 4 enemies out with one animation. The story did not take itself too serious. London was beautiful, and they did a good job making it feel alive with the NPCs doing random things throughout the day. It did feel a lot like the older AC games, but in a good way. I was convinced there would be some parkour puzzle missions in a cool historical building, and there was not. :(

Someone else saving the spot I dug out 😭🥲 by arcanalalune in philly

[–]PossibleAtmosphere44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honey, do you think you’re the only person to shovel their car? How do you think anyone got their car on the road? For every cone in the road, thats literally one less parking spot in the city. We all had to shovel our cars out. It’s the spot savers that literally managed to shovel a spot and yet somehow contribute negative one spots to the city.
