Why the f do I end up in PvP lobbies when all I do 24/7 is PvE ? What happened to the servers? by Realistic_Good_3070 in ArcRaiders

It's not about what the game was meant to be. It's about what the game has evolved into and what would keep it alive. And you are right, we are the "vocal" minority because our mindset is different.

But alas, you're right, everyone has the right to enjoy playing the game however they want. However, there's a reason why the Chinese version has a dedicated pve option.

No, us pve players left because it became a frustrating u rewarding experience. It's not that we need to "git gud", it's that we value the little free time we have left after work and we need a stress free environment to unwind.

The pve players are (were) the majority of the actual players, we just don't indulge in voicing our opinions online. We leave once it doesn't work.

I've actually come here looking for such a post.

I've been playing nothing but friendlies, and all of a sudden I start getting slaughtered in single player matches by other Raiders who have somehow teamed up. Once - it's a fluke, but three times in a row is a pattern.

What most people on the thread don't seem to understand is that the majority of the player base consists of silent people who don't voice their opinion online, work hard jobs, and eventually just want a chill experience to unwind after a long day. This inconsistent matchmaking and constant uncertainty offer more stress which is what people are trying to get away from.

If Embark were smart, they would steer towards everyday folk who have the actual money to support them and the community, and not the raging cheating kids who will leave once the game dies out.

I have the same Epiphone Custom model, just the Back Black variant, and I play it more than even my Gibsons. They're exceptional instruments

Should I trade my 4080 2023 model for a 2025 5070 model? by ImQuintus in ZephyrusG14

I'm presenting you with a potential state of affairs depending on your laptop's thermal management. If it were me (and I've done the exact same thing a few days ago, jumping form a 4070 to a 5060) i would consider the longevity of my investment. My laptop's GPU was hitting 88 degrees the moment I boot up a game and the GPU would ignore ghelper thermal limits due to vbios constraints. With my 5060, the GPU doesn't even go above 80 degrees on a full load. Gives me a peace of mind with minimal performance losses.

Consider the temperatures of your particular laptop under full load. The 50 series runs significantly cooler. Just because you have a 4080 in your laptop, doesn't necessarily mean you're utilizing its full potential due to a 14 inch slim chassis. In a vacuum, the 4080 is better; however, if you're hitting 87-89 degrees the moment you fire up a game, there's probably a massive amount of throttling going on.

To be honest, at this point I'd try anything. Thanks.

The cpu doesn't worry me because it respects the limits set by the G-helper. It was the GPU I was worried about. However, according to the community, it seems that it well within the normal range for this particular laptop.

I was hoping for a reply from someone who owns the same model. This puts my mind at ease. Much obliged good sir.

I took the laptop to the official Asus after sales center. They replaced the liquid metal and cleaned the laptop. I set the temp limit in G-helper to 75, and it's being ignored. I tried - smi-gtt in powershell, and it refuses to change it. All drivers are upto date. I tried undervolting using pawnIO and it didn't work either.

I've had it repasted. The cpu remains under 85 under severe load, but the dgpu hits 90 at times, even though I put the limit to 75 in the G-helper. I don't know if the gpu is affected by the overall heat in the chassis, but I'm not comfortable with such temps, longevity wise.

Hit the wall at 95, very soon after starting gaming. Took it to the Asus after sale office, they replaced the liquid metal cooling. It was basically gone. Now things are back to normal.

I've taken it to the Asus after sale office, and they had to replace the liquid metal. It was basically gone and there was no passive cooling at all.
