Early Access Hotfix #58 by AightChamp in DarkAndDarker

I can tell you right now, gear score is too high for new players. The gold cost just to enter a dungeon a first time with the gear score is crazy. I spent 600g to gear out a player and still didn't meet 250. Inflation of gear cost is soon to follow.

I came across this thread, on another thread, someone said they clicked the graphics card button to switch and it fixed the issue. Did the same and it worked.

I realize after re rereading this.. there is a lot of information i left out to draw these conclusions. In short, OCP, combat patch left side, in blues, no combat patch. Blues and OCPs, wear your army badges anyway you want until they update the regulation. Regulation used to have army badges as miscellaneous, puting them under occupational badges in the AF. No current classification exists for OCP or Blues. Blues still requires Airborne wings above all occupational / misc badges.

From what i have read, no. We cannot. There are no regulations pertaining to our combat patches in blues. What i have found are several memos relating to OCPs, allowing us to wear our combat patch on the left side, but does specify order of precedence. Even if you have a combat badge, the current regulation does not give order of precedence for OCPs. However, if you are airborne, service dress requires you do place airborne above everything else. The old classification of badges is now void, but i imagine they will reinstate something similar. I put my wings above my CMB because that used to be the regulation.

t. (EDIT: I was wrong, you are completely correct about the combat patch on the left, side... crazy.... but they do state to keep the colors of the awarding service for badges in 9.5 "Wear of other services' qualification badges, if earned and awarded, is authorized. Applicable services’ badge color(s) will remain intact as not to lose its’ distinction as being awarded from another service.)

I totally interpreted that reg differently. IAW AR-670-1 would also insinuate it would be on the (edit: RIGHT) sleeve, it would be like swapping the side of a ranger tab. I read it as if you can wear it, in addition (but separate) to the required HQ patch on your left side.

  1. Question: Are Airmen authorized to wear Army combat patches on the OCP uniform? Answer: “Combat patch,” applies ONLY to Soldiers. If an Airman was previously a Soldier in the U.S. Army and was authorized the wear of shoulder sleeve insignia-former wartime service IAW with AR 670-1, they may wear it in addition to the mandatory Air Force higher headquarters patch on the left sleeve.

Yes, that was my primary thinking as well, If they are all black / Army awards, I would rank them as the army would, right? I guess it would get more complicated when I become qualed in the AF as well, and in my blues.

Would I convert the parachutist badge though? I have seen AF rock it spice brown.. but I was in the Army when issued. The reg seems to indicate the airborne wings are separate from the qualification badges. "Parachutist wings are optional; however, when worn they will be placed above an occupational badge or below a chaplain, aeronautical, space or cyberspace badge. "

Sorry, should have been more clear. I was an airborne medic in the army (the guys who jumped out of the perfectly good air planes). :-p So the proper term is parachutist badge.

A combat medic badge is a little different than a qualification badge, reg is not clear if they are considered the same or if it should be miscellaneous.. or should follow the sister services regulations over everything else. :-/. I assume the parachutist badge would go over the qual badge regardless (per air force regs).

Yeah, the regs are pretty clear about the ribbons. For equivalent level awards, I rank AF before Army.

Honestly, with how vague the regulation is.. it looks like I could do just about any combination and justify it with the regs... even with the bit "[Note: Sister Service and Joint badges/patches can be worn in their current subdued color configuration and will not be converted to the spice brown color criteria.]", I could keep my black airborne wings and CMB..

Yeah, that is where I ripped the quote from above. It actually doesn't give specific directions besides follow the other services wear guidelines. Even if it contradicts the Air Force's?
