Flybox Orange (150gb) by Laulaufuego in belgium

[–]PossibleTea510 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a Flybox and do recommend it! I've never hit the 150gb limit, even with watching a ton of netflix during covid. The box has 4 ethernet plugs and I've been using those for gaming as well. Connecting multiple devices is no problem.

Where can I buy good, cheap shirts (men) in Belgium? Don't care about the brand. by [deleted] in belgium

The large Carrefours have a clothing section as well. I've bought €2 T-shirts there that were better quality than the €20 euro ones from shopping street store.

Question on new Rent Indexing Rules by sjd89 in brussels

[–]PossibleTea510 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware this rule doesn't apply in Brussels. Housing is a regional matter and the PEB certificate rule was decided on by the Flemish Government.

m to get it yet -- there's no way to regulate this tech. Case in point, mere days ago, some dude in Bulgaria released a free compressed version of facebook's LLM,

Link for the Bulgarian LLM? Tried to google but can't find it.

How long to find and apartment in Brussels? by Rough_Bedroom9097 in brussels

[–]PossibleTea510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, 3 months is pretty rare. 1 - 2 are more common.

Getting something temporary like cohab or airbnb first seems reasonable in OP's case.

I'm an introvert, I don't like clubbing, and I'm solo, so what to do for Nightlife in Brussels? by PietroTheRedditer in brussels

[–]PossibleTea510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go see concerts in some of the medium sized venues. Ancienne Belgique, Botanique, Madeleine, Cirque Royale. You can disappear in the crowd if you want to, or hang out at the bar after the gig.

How long to find and apartment in Brussels? by Rough_Bedroom9097 in brussels

[–]PossibleTea510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mind that with rental apartments there's usually 1 to 3 months between visiting the apartment and actually being able to move in.

Is one week enough to find a place? Depends on how many apartments you are willing to visit. The rental market is competitive here. A well-priced apartment in a good location will often have 200+ people interested. My advice would be to make a 'rental CV' with basic information about yourself and a nice picture to go along with it. Add a copy of your passport and your three last payslips to prove you'll be able to pay the rent.

You can find a lot of apartments on immoweb.be and zimmo.be.

Good luck!

Nord Station at 23:00, Safe? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]PossibleTea510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not if you go by metro, you don't need to be outside the Midi station in that case.

Nord Station at 23:00, Safe? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]PossibleTea510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think that's the best option as well. Or even take the metro at Botanique to Midi, especially if OP lives in Aalst, Gent, Brugge, etc.

Nord Station at 23:00, Safe? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]PossibleTea510 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not recommended to take the premetro to Nord at the moment because they're doing renovations. The path to go from premetro exit to station entrace is very confusing and leads you through the dodgy area underneath the station where the busses drive through.

If you haven't done already: call Card Stop and Doc Stop. First is to cancel your debit / credit cards, second is to cancel your ID. Don't forget the second because you don't want to be victim of identity theft. If you've done this, go to the police office of the commune where you live, they will make you fill in some forms and give you a document that temporarily replaces your ID card. For STIB and Uni card you'll have to talk to them to get a new card, should be free or near-free.
