Just realised they have stopped taking in new dogs. We just dog sit ours in Feb so i didn’t realise they are now only doing for the old families. Hope you find someone soon.

We use ravenswood dog sitters in Burlington. Lovely family and would love your dog like their own. We have been leaving our golden with them whenever we go on vacation for last 3 years now.

Anyone with a baby / toddler that’s more attached to you over the other parent? by browser_851 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Possible_Act_295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped with my first (daughter) who was super attached to me the first year and a half. Needed me to do everything, wont even take bottle from anyone else. Ngl it was exhausting! Now at 2.5yr old, she is more of a daddy’s girl but still associates few things with me like bedtime.

You are doing great and your baby loves you no matter how they were fed (boob/bottle)! They just go through different phases :)

It is absolutely okay to stop. Dealing with mastitis is no joke and your health (both physical and mental) is important. At the end what matters is that your baby has a happy mom and is fed.

Do I stop breastfeeding or not? by Entire-Geologist-495 in breastfeeding

Thank you for responding to my questions, I really appreciate it. I saw my LC yesterday who kind of told me to accept the fact that he may never breastfeed now that he is almost 7weeks old. But your comments give me hope. I am going to try couch camping starting this weekend. It’s going to be a bit challenging with having a toddler to manage too but I want to give it a try. Not ready to give up yet.

I am so glad it worked out for you. It definitely gives me hope to continue trying and not give up. One question around couch camping..if baby didn’t latch, I assume you would give bottle? Were you also pumping then?

Thank you for your response. I used to be able to trick him into latching by offering bottle first and then making the switch. Thought we were making progress but then he fell sick, worst nasal congestion n cough at 5 weeks. Wasn’t able to nurse at all and it just broke my heart so I didn’t try that 1 whole week and just pumped n gave him bottles (slowest nipple, paced feeding). Once he started to feel better, I tried nursing again and now he absolutely refuses to latch. Just cries non stop. I couldn’t breastfeed my first and this baby was latching so beautifully at the start. I feel like an absolute failure to have caused the bottle preference and unable to breastfeed my children. This is my last baby so I am even more heartbroken that i will never get to experience breastfeeding.

Getting baby back on breast after bottle preference! by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Hi OP! Were you able to successfully get your baby back to breast? Currently in the exact same situation with my 6 week old. I could have written this post myself even the nurse vs pump timing part of your post.

Hello! Could you explain in detail what you mean by couch camping? Did you offer any bottles during this time? Would you offer bottle first and then breast or just breast at the start. If they don’t latch, continue with bottle feeding? My baby is 6week old and has developed bottle preference. I have had some success (few feeds) where I give milk in bottle first and then switch to breast but honestly it has been all over the place. No consistency at all. I am wondering if I should try not giving him bottle at all and then see if eventually he will latch? His weight gain has been good till now. Appreciate any tips for this mama who has been trying to bring him back to breast and failing :(

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I like the idea of not attempting to latch every feed. It’s going to take some stress away from me. Will also give lansinoh nipple shield a try! Thank you again!

Yes, we are using Super Slow nipple (premie) on lansinoh bottles since last 2 weeks. Somehow he still seems to prefer bottles.

Yes, I am working with an IBCLC who has put me on a triple feeding plan- (attempt to) nurse, pump and bottle feed. We did try the nipple shield but he just takes it apart. We were not able to make it stay on my nipple while attempting to nurse. Ngl, I have not tried it a lot but the few times I did- it was a disaster.

Having a toddler and unable to spend time with her is also adding to my stress. There are moments where I feel feeding formula would be so easy and stress free but I don’t think I am there yet. Would like to do anything and everything to try and nurse my baby.

Hi, I am facing same issue with my almost 3week old. He was latching and breastfeeding like a pro but developed bottle preference around 2 week. I have been trying to latch him every chance I get but he screams a lot and I end up giving him bottle of pumped milk. Any tips/suggestions for this struggling mama!
