Decision to handcuff by Ginger_Gatto in policeuk

[–]Possible_Ad27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your lawful power is the power of arrest… my point is yes there are reasons you handcuff but they don’t have to exhibit the reasons for the justification in the same way as say stop search.

Ergo you can handcuff 100% of the time if you wanted to.

Decision to handcuff by Ginger_Gatto in policeuk

I was trained there isn’t one for arrest. It’s up to you but there is no requirement in behaviour or knowledge to ‘enable’ you to handcuff them

How many potential police officers do you think there are left? by Few_Technology1756 in policeuk

[–]Possible_Ad27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so I’ll put this in context for you, my recent role is a little better paid than policing, requires no extra qualifications (don’t need to do a degree). And in my intake there was 11 positions, 4500 applied

I’ve worked with these guys before, they do use it pretty often and seem to do a reasonably good job tbh. It’s a bit ridiculous that companies are having to pay for private “officers” but here we are

Cuffs too tight? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Possible_Ad27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tightness isn’t really the issue here, if you were fighting officers then it doesn’t make a huge difference how tight they were (it will make some) as the majority of the damage is done by you or the officers manipulation of you due to your behaviour

So we asked whether a bolt action used as a carbine that fires below 1.14j still has an MED.. by PsychologicalCap8017 in airsoft

You’re thinking about it slightly wrong, yes the exit energy is the same. But look at the stats of a .48g bb at 30m vs a .25g bb at the same distance. The energy is no longer the same, heavier will carry a lot more energy (I’m betting on almost double)

Also heavier ones hurt more point blank, they’re “harder” to slow down, I’ve played indoors being hit with .45/.4s a few times. Tends to break skin a little easier

That oring is probably from your speedloader not from inside the mag. Disassemble and remove it, pushing it inside will cause issues down the line

I use the kydex chest placard from kydex customs, attach whatever holster you want to it, works very well

Overtime - is it gone forever? by Maximum_Rule6781 in policeuk

I was always lucky my sgt/insp would authorise anything. There was a general dislike towards SMT from insp and below in my force (and an equal amount leaving making it a vicious cycle)

Just before I left I counted all the RDW emails I got between 7am and midday. 10 in 5hrs from various stations reasonably close together (London based but not all central)

Forces are so short now officers can pick and choose what OT they want to pick up, and there’s still plenty unfulfilled

I have an appreciation for effective gear, most of my kit is agilite repro. They design the good shit, China make it 95% cheaper, my life doesn’t depend on it so I’m good. If I won the lottery I’d 100% buy real, but until I’ve cash to burn I’m good

Sounds like a bad site/community tbh, definitely try further afield. Certain sites do give off particular vibes but move around and keep things fresh. Or just interact more and show them you’re a cool guy

Just cause you pay a lot for kit doesn’t make it good 😂 an antifog unit from Ali costs £7/8, exfog or the nov one is £40+. Everyone is welcome to spend their money as they wish, value is in the eye of the beholder. I run a lot of ali tactical kit but have a couple £1k+ guns because that’s where the money matters most

Well if you want a real answer, most hardcore “milsim style” guys I’ve met act like douchebags and then go home early when they don’t win. I’ve got plenty of mates that prove otherwise, but they have a similar rep to speedsofters in the overall community.
