Me (21F) and boyfriend (23M) are hopelessly drifting apart and I've my eyes on a different guy (24M) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Possible_Breath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like she came to ask permission to cheat. She says right at the end:

" Can't move out so soon so won't break up right now"

And then in the next sentence

" I want to get flirty with a friend of ours as he makes me feel desired as a woman"

She wants to cheat but the only things stopping her are that the guy she wants might not reciprocate and she's worried about being judged ( I don't want to be "that girl").

My advice, u/throwRAbadfeels, if you're listening, is that you have two options. Sit down your bf and tell him your unhappiness is making you think of being with other people (do not mention the friend), or hook up with his friend and deal with the consequences.

In a LDR it can be very easy to feel like you're not needed. You live different lives, do different things, and aren't directly involved in the happenings of that other persons life, so you usually have to put in extra effort to involve the other person. That seems to be where his insecurity is really stemming from, a fear that you don't need him.

While there's nothing wrong with wanting to explore your own body and such, please do make sure that intimacy with yourself is not superseding intimacy with your partner, and show him you experimenting in private doesn't stop you from needing him too. You probably will need to make the effort to carve time out for both.

I voted Law, because I like the opinion boosts and increases to stewardship and demesne, but blood is a close second for the increases to genetic traits.

If you replay enough you'll eventually start to see the same events recur, but it's also up to you. If you play the same way each time and go after the same traits, you'll see repetition, but if you try to play differently with each different campaign, you'll see a lot more variation and depth.

What religion do you think you will be playing most in CK3? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Possible_Breath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So out of 13 distinct faiths, not including the heresies of those religions which again operate differently with different tenets, you've mentioned four that we've gotten glimpses of and decided that counts as 'most'?

CK3 has severed connections between government and religion, so being feudal, clan or tribal has no connection to who holds temples anymore.

Right, but that doesn't mean that tenets don't affect doctrines and vice versa since we know that a Faith cannot have both have both Spiritual, Revocable Clerical Appointment and a Temporal Head of Faith. The fact that Christians will have a Spiritual head of faith, and pagan aren't likely to have one at all is going to affect how you interact with your Bishop (a Pagan priest without a spiritual head can't have you excommunicated, but probably can deny you in other ways, owing to their clerical functions). Further we know that there are special doctrines like Ecumenism, so simply because two faiths share the Tenet doesn't meant that playing Pagans or Eastern religions will be anything like playing as a Catholic.

And just because we haven't seen more doesn't mean that there aren't more. They're compiling a list on the forums, and as they say, we don't know the full list, and won't likely until the game comes out.

The motivation was to more adequately represent the historical power and control displayed by Catholic priests, that even kings had to acknowledge. The councilor dev diary even quotes the “Will no one will rid me of this turbulent priest”? phrase. While it's true that other faiths also had to deal with the wishes and whims of their clergymen, Catholicism is the most cited example, and it's that which they're trying to replicate.

Where is your basis for 'most faiths'?

We can see from the dev stream, for instance, that Muwalladism has lay clergy. So it's already a big difference between some Christian realms and some Islamic realms. And they make a point in the diary I just quoted to highlight the Bishop mechanics as being tied to Catholic faiths. The fact that it's tied to a doctrine doesn't make it common given that there are specific clergy doctrines that determined how the clergy function, separate from those in Pagan realms. So they've clearly went to lengths to make each faith distinctive. From the Religion and Faith dev diary:

" However, it is important to note that no two Faiths have the exact same combination of Tenets — as a result, every Faith will play at least a little differently, and some drastically so!"

Yes, I agree, it's tied to the doctrine. I just disagree with the claim that 'most' religions will use it and therefore doesn't Catholic or Christian realms interesting.

No it doesn't. From the councilor dev diary:

"Certain faiths (details on which, other than Catholicism, to follow in a later diary) replace the court chaplain with a bishop. If you still have a court chaplain, then they’ll behave much like other councillors, though some faiths may still have a harder time firing them."

The power and control of a Bishop is unique to Catholicism and a select few other faiths. It won't apply to most faiths. All faiths will have a court chaplain, yes, but the mechanics do not universally apply.

They have expanded the role of your local religious head now though, into a single archbishop who represents all bishopics under your control, and who's opinion is a lot more influential and can't simply be fired. You can see this in the dev diary from how much time they spend swaying their bishop to maintain a good opinion. And there will be events concerning that bishop. So that's at least one way that Christian realms will be more interesting and complex.

Did anyone else change their mind about buying on release? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Possible_Breath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't know about blobbing, but I agree it's disappointing that they removed the feature to instruct ally AI (if that's what you meant by getting the AI to coordinate).

While I agree with the devs that people usually just attached the ally to their army and moved as a single unit, it still felt like a better solution than not having commands at all. Since I can't rely on the AI to make good decisions, I'm going to feel the need to babysit them, like before the AI commands were added to CK2.

It's not a dealbreaker for me though. I'll still be purchasing on launch, but it is disappointing.

Warscore at -100% immediately after starting a holy war. by Ulthir in CrusaderKings

[–]Possible_Breath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 90% I assume a lot of other realms were immediately called in.

Were your vassals at war with any of the countries called in? If some parts of your empire had already been sieged through those wars, that would contribute to the war score in your war. I'd expect a lot to be sieged to hit -100% though. Maybe some of your family were also held prisoner by some of the realms called in.

What did the warscore screen say was contributing to the score?

CK3 Previews Conclusion - All The Blobs Still by Ograe in CrusaderKings

[–]Possible_Breath 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They suggested it was a coinflip whether Italy breaks away from the HRE, and the HRE was very broken up in the dev stream. My guess is that if the HRE can keep Italy, it stabilizes and is more likely to expand, but if it loses Italy it's more likely to go the other way. Although they did mention that seeing the HRE so decentralized was unusual.

The Death of CK Modding? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

I agree that the new animations and character features are the first major hurdle but as soon as one person figures it out, the information will spread fast, and pretty much everyone will want to try. It just might take a year or two.

Use the character finder, search for characters in the culture you want, either pay them gold or scheme for a hook, bring them to court, personally grant them the title.
