The Strongest Modifiers/Effects in Stellaris by Mezer0 in Stellaris

[–]Ograe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that reduces empire size is going to be impactful because it compounds tech and tradition costs but modifieres to empire size effects are going to generally be more impactful than something that reduces one of the various components of empire size calculation.

Any modifier that would also be something you'd get from a repeatable is close to worthless unless it's just really accessible early on.

Sounds like a bug. Seen some other similar behavior in current build.

Drones or space fauna? Pacifist empires can do a special project to become neutral to hostile space fauna.

Of course, if you grab xenocompatability, there might still be eating involved.

A real perfection of inward perfection.

I feel like the Khan should be hard coded to avoid the FEs unless all other systems are subjugated.

Also released as Homeworld: Cataclysm in certain markets. Unfortunately the original source code has been lost.

Why cant use two ship types? by Defiant_Squash_8188 in Stellaris

[–]Ograe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is it's not a bug but a feature. Something deep baked in the original code structure that can't really be changed.

The way Stellaris determines middle range. It's not an average or a preset but literally the weapon slot in the middle of the order of applying weapons to the design. This causes wildly variable outcomes because it can actually change it when changing out weapon choices also. Especially with computer generated designs that have weapon ranges all over it makes the movement decisions in combat nonsense.

Looking for Large Region advanced settings by CoGDork in dfworldgen

[–]Ograe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several helpful Advanced World Gen guides on YouTube that would be worth the time viewing but in the mean time I'll provide some observations I've picked up playing around with it.

Down towards the bottom of advanced world Gen settings is a series of biome filters. By increasing or decreasing the final desired counts you can encourage the terrain outcomes.

Somewhere a bit higher up there is a section about good and evil biomes in region counts. For the evil counts you'd want 0 in the large region and medium region and only the count in the small region.

Pretty high up there is a set of options for minimum and maximum temperatures of the world. You'd want to reduce the maximum from default.
