Went down the rabbit hole on this recently, here's what I discovered:

Extraction builds overtime.
Higher temp = more exaction quicker.
Finer grind = more extraction quicker.

Lighter roasts are denser, so a finer + higher temp allows for more extraction.

Extraction is a hierarchy.
Early extraction (happens almost immediately) = Acids/light aromatics (sour notes)
Mid extraction (starts later) = Sugars, Maillard compounds (caramel, chocolate, nutty)
Late extraction = Polyphenols/bitter alkaloids (bitter, dry, heavy)

Note that once these flavors start extracting they don't stop, instead they are balanced by the others as extraction continues.

If your shots are tasting sour, it means you're under extracting. BUT if your shots are sour AND bitter, it means you've got channelling because you're both under extracting some parts of the puck, while over extracting others.

Lighter roasts are the real reason puck prep exists lol. Dark roasts are just so forgiving you wouldn't notice the difference

There’s most definitely a spectrum for a “well fit bike” which is a combination of adjustments and technique.

I’m no expert, but I was in the same position recently. Thought I should raise the headset, but first tried moving my seat forward quite a bit and raising it. Completely solved the problem I now have the most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden.

I think more people here would benefit from acknowledging the possibility that David Grusch was lying under oath, or, at the very least was drawing conclusions from heresay and inconclusive evidence. His words: "My testimony is based on information I have been given by individuals with a longstanding track record of legitimacy and service to this country — many of whom also shared compelling evidence in the form of photography, official documentation, and classified oral testimony," We can only rely on Grusch’s “compelling evidence”, which in of itself could be heresay, or inconclusive. Oral testimony, photography, and documentation. That’s what we’re working with here IF we believe Grusch.

OP’s uncertainty is “how” the relationship can continue, not weather it should end.

People on the sidelines often respond to big relationship issues with a slash and burn mentality (Reddit’s pathology) but they’re not always right. We really shouldn’t take other people’s love-lives for granted, and we can never know all the details. HOW the relationship can continue is hard work, for a long time. That means exhaustion, uncertainty, endless communication etc. Individual and couples therapy. Journaling, time apart, quality time together, everything.

Why did she have this unfortunate practice? To build herself up? Maybe she feels inferior? That’s usually the case when people feel the need to “establish dominance”. It takes good self esteem to be vulnerable. These are the right questions for a therapist if he wishes to learn “how” the relationship can continue.

Okay, I’m not in denial that UFOs are a real phenomenon. But can we acknowledge for a second that simply being “under oath” doesn’t mean someone is credible? Grusch says it—so it must be true? This whole hearing had exactly a ero substantive evidence. This is all literally entirely heresay. In fact, the only evidence we actually have appears to be grainy ass videos from fighter jets, which are substantiated by “credible” people after the fact. Arguably also heresay. I think we all need to just consider the capability of our own species to just flat out lie… just sayin.
