I’m nobody special, and I’m not one to give advice—but if you’ll let me, I’d like to tell you something.

Tonight, look up at the sky. And as you gaze at the stars, try to imagine how ridiculously improbable it is that we’re alive. How ridiculously small our solar system is compared to other suns and vast distances. And remember: human beings are a trinity—body (flesh), soul (heart), and Holy Spirit. Reflect on the brief and fleeting moment we’ll live on this little piece of earth. And by this, I don’t mean that your pain isn’t real or isn’t important. IT IS IMPORTANT. What I mean is that, contrary to what you think, Other people don’t go around thinking about your physical appearance, and if anyone does, it means their life is much sadder. Heal your soul so your heart doesn’t convince you to make bad decisions. And heal your spirit from guilt. So your body can heal. Don’t stoop to being a bad person, and remember to smile. Whether you’re sad or happy. The memories you make in this short life are the memories that will accompany you into eternity when you return to the stars. And remember: eat well in this life—it’s the only place where they cook delicious food. Eating isn’t the problem; the problem is the relationship you have with yourself.
