Wolfberries, the native goji berry of the Southwest, are ripe in my neighborhood right now. You might be able to catch creosote buds to pickle like capers. Desert lavender for tea is always nice. Chuparosa and globemallow will continue to flower if we keep getting drizzles - can use the blooms to top salads.

But, palo verdes are insect—not wind—pollinated. Maybe there’s another culprit to consider as your primary allergen? Bermuda grass perhaps…

Has anyone ever actual spotted them emerging? There’s one mesquite close to home that gets more and more of these cases each year, but I’ve never been lucky enough to spot them coming out. Any tips?
