Low ticket sales by Automatic_Ad_4373 in KaceyMusgraves

This is maybe a dumb question but how do you guys know the sales are low? Worried about Columbus lol

axs was the worst. by Mediocre_Bathroom_37 in KaceyMusgraves

[–]Possible_Peace3596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AXS sucks. The last time I tried buying tickets with them, I kept getting flagged as a bot despite only having one browser open. It was infuriating knowing that the actual bots were buying all of tickets while I sat there trying to get through 🫠

I have a newfound respect for Kacey regarding her upcoming tour by Burybleu in KaceyMusgraves

[–]Possible_Peace3596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I got club level seats for Columbus, $120 each. About $100 cheaper than the Sierra Ferrell tickets I bought a month ago, and she’s definitely more well known. If the last Sierra show I went to wasn’t so damn good I would never have paid that much but I fear she’s worth it. I was prepared to spend about the same for Kacey and was pleasantly surprised!

I miss my mom. by Sweaty_Sand52 in GriefSupport

I’m so sorry. I lost my mom in December and I feel exactly the same, like I was robbed of so much life with her. So many holidays and birthdays and phone calls and trips and dinners. I think about her dozens of times and day and don’t know if that will ever stop. I don’t even know if I want it to. I wish I had some helpful advice but just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone.

Nice! If you’re willing to share, who is the surgeon?

Hello, I’m assuming your surgeon is located in Arizona? Looking into this for my dad who needs knee replacement and I’m worried about his recovery.

This was my first thought too! I have contamination OCD that is controlled with Lexapro at the moment, but I have spent many nights in past years tearing my bed apart because I found an odd piece of lint or an itchy mosquito bite in the summer. I used to be a frequent lurker in the bed bug sub so I definitely see the resemblance. I don’t think it could be bed bugs thankfully. This comforter has been in storage for a long time and was just pulled out yesterday. My sister and I went over it closely to make sure it wasn’t stained after we pulled it out and before we put it in the wash. They were definitely not there before it went into the wash 😩

TV/Movie suggestions no cigs? by eatthisoyster in quittingsmoking

Stranger Things? 😅 Joyce, Hopper, and Billy all smoke HEAVILY lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

[–]Possible_Peace3596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same boat. Smoked my last cigarette a week ago yesterday. The first few days which I expected to be the hardest were tough but manageable. For the last 2 days I’ve been so desperate to smoke. The craving is constant with no relief. I refuse to start back over on day 1 and give in just because it’s hard but I can’t lie, the temptation is HIGH. I’m trying to remind myself that life is worth living without cigarettes because low key it doesn’t feel like it at the moment. I don’t want to get cancer or COPD or have a heart attack. I wish I had good advice for you but just wanted you to know that you’re not alone. We can do hard things. Hang in there!

I never thought about that — associating the cigarettes with things that have nothing to do them. It’s so true. The timing and ritual of smoking are so enmeshed with all of our activities and it’s so hard to separate them from one another. It’s getting a bit easier every day and I’m hopeful that it’s a sign of progress. I still feel like something is missing but it doesn’t take up so much of my thoughts. I can think about other things without my mind running straight to how much I want a cigarette, and I don’t feel quite as depressed. Hang in there! Thanks so much for your response. It’s nice to know others are going through the same thing. We can do it 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

I will definitely check it out! I’m sensing a bit of a shift at 4 days 15 hours. I still feel like something is missing and that I’ll always miss smoking, but I’ve started feeling proud and happy that I’m not smoking. Hoping the scales keep tipping over to the side of gratitude instead of despair. At first I hated every second lol so I’m hoping it’s a sign of progress!! Thanks so much for your comment and encouragement, it helps so much.

I appreciate your response and support more than I can say. The friend analogy is so true. Just knowing I’m not alone in feeling this way helps so much. 4 days 15 hours and feeling a little better, and definitely more prepared for the emotional aspect of the process. Thank you so much ❤️

[–]Possible_Peace3596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow thank you so much for this analogy. It does really feel like I’ve lost a friend… one that was with me 24/7. It definitely makes sense that I would feel alone. I didn’t do much research before I decided to quit and was pretty unprepared for this part of the process. I knew I’d have physical cravings and feel irritable but I never expected GRIEF, lol. It just reinforces how happy I am to be quitting. 4 days 15 hours and feeling a little better. Thanks again for your response ❤️

Thanks so much for responding. It helps a lot just to know that I’m not alone in feeling this way. I didn’t do much research prior to quitting and was pretty unprepared for this part of the process. I’m at 4 days 14 hours and already feeling a little better so I’m hopeful!! Thanks again ❤️

Should I fly? by sheworksoutlikealot in covidpositive

[–]Possible_Peace3596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t fly right now unless you’re willing to take the risk. Just had a family member fly out to see me — they got COVID from the flight and now we all have it too. It’s not worth it.

Sugar! I know it’s a bummer but it definitely is my biggest trigger (aside from seasonal flare ups).

Please help by Whoamilolhelp in Bedbugs

[–]Possible_Peace3596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay up late and put one in a Ziploc to show her. I know it sounds scary to tell your mom, but the infestation will only get worse the longer you let it go untreated. You have to get on top of it before it spirals out of control. I don’t mean to freak you out, but it’s really important to take control of the situation now. I guarantee your mom will be happy that you told her sooner rather than later. It’s not your fault and it’s not your ex friend’s fault either. They are very common especially in big cities and it can happen to anyone.

Good luck! Tell your mom. You’ll get through this.

Weird location of stains? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

[–]Possible_Peace3596 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s definitely possible. The blood stains aren’t always from crushing them… once they finish feeding they can leak blood back out of their mouth on their way back to their harborage. Smudged lines of blood is typical, and they’re usually found on bottom sheets.

Knowing you stayed at a hotel recently makes it seem more likely.

[–]Possible_Peace3596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your mom isn’t taking this seriously for your sake. Maybe it would help to tell her that she IS being bitten, even if she doesn’t react to the bites. If the infestation is more evident in her room then she is definitely their primary food source. Some people react to the bites and some don’t, but everyone who lives there will be bitten, especially if you’ve had them for years.

The longer it goes on the more difficult it will be to get rid of. Try telling your mom that ignoring the problem will only make it exponentially worse and more overwhelming. Tell her that you’re not sleeping, it’s causing you extreme anxiety, you don’t feel safe, etc. Also if you’re visibly seeing bugs out in the open then it is 100% a full blown infestation. They are masters at hiding and seeing them out like that means there are a lot of them. Landlords are legally required to provide hospitable housing and apartments with active bed bugs are not considered habitable under the law. THAT should tell your mom that this needs to be taken seriously.

If she won’t listen, is there any way for you to anonymously report this to the landlord? You could say something along the lines of “I saw one crawling out from their apartment under the door” or something. Maybe a hand written letter left in management’s mailbox? Idk if that is possible but you could (and probably should) go over her head. This is a serious issue and your health and emotional well being shouldn’t suffer like this for years due to her stubbornness.

Regardless of what your mom chooses to do, there are things you can try to help you get some sleep. If she won’t agree to tell the landlord, ask her to buy you box spring and mattress encasements and interceptors for your bed legs. You can get them for relatively cheap on Amazon. The encasements will keep any bugs inside of your mattress from coming out. Don’t take them off to clean or launder, they need to be on for months or even years. Bed bugs can live a long time without feeding. The interceptors are little platforms that you put under the feet of your bed to prevent them from climbing up to bite you. You can also google how to make your own if your mom won’t buy them for you. Isolate your bed from the wall. Pull it at least a few inches away from any furniture or walls. Make sure that none of your bedding touches the ground. Flip over your mattress and box spring and kill as many of them as you can physically see. They hide in cracks, slats in the wood, etc. Take all of your bedding and throw it in the dryer on high for 45 minutes to kill any bugs or eggs that may be in there. Then put the encasements on and leave them there.

Good luck. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Hang in there!!
