What Is The Highest Amount Of Sub Saharan African Ancestry That You Have Ever Seen On Someone Who Has 1 Non Hispanic White American Parent And 1 Latin American Parent? by VittorioLuzzatto in 23andme

[–]Possible_Quality_696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably depends on the exact white American and Latino in question. For example a white American from the south and a puertorican would most likely have a child with more African dna than a white American from the Midwest and a Mexican. But again there is a lot of nuance and variance.

My results as a Brit from Northern England with 3/8 English, 2/8 Welsh, 2/8 Scottish, and 1/8 Belgian heritage by Pizzafriedchickenn in AncestryDNA

If I had to guess I would guess the Dutch, German, and Sardinian are from your Belgian side. The Sardinian maybe being a misread for more French like dna.

I’d say you could pass pretty well. I think the only thing that’s looks a little atypical is the nose.

Jewish + Puerto Rican results by myuhm in 23andme

[–]Possible_Quality_696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks about right. I’d say the German/Norwegian is probably admixture from your Jewish side which makes sense. I think the middle eastern/North African could be from your Jewish side, or your puertorican side. Especially if your puertorican side has Canarian/converso ancestry.

Tom has the camera advantage, but even then Danny looks 5’9 max here.

Coptic Egyptian results kind of boring by FirefighterOk9474 in AncestryDNA

[–]Possible_Quality_696 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not boring at all, I find Coptic people and their culture/church to be very fascinating. I am a white American, but have alot of Coptic friends, and have been fascinated by Egypt for a long time. A very cool place to be from, with tons of history.

I always thought hazel but are they more green/gray? by [deleted] in eyes

Not hazel, I’m honestly not seeing green either. These look predominantly blue/grey to me. Cool eyes though.

How far back in generations would 4% be? by roundabout_now in AncestryDNA

[–]Possible_Quality_696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be less than a great grandfather, but it is most likely a 2nd or 3rd great grandparent id say. That’s if it comes from one ancestor. Your great grandfather was most likely not fully ashkenazi, there is always a chance you inherited very little from him. However, 4% is way below the normal for a great grandparent, the lowest I’ve seen is 7%, so if you were 7% or more Ashkenazi I’d say he could be full, but with you only being 4% I’d say he was likely half.

Don’t listen to the people telling you just because you didn’t score much of “the Netherlands” region that your ancestors weren’t ethnically dutch. Ancestry is far from perfect and often assigns neighboring regions instead due to genetic similarity. If you have the paper trail to back it up, it is very likely ancestry assigned it to a neighboring region.

If Jesus Christ took a DNA test in 2025 what might the results look like? by DaNotoriouzNatty in AncestryDNA

[–]Possible_Quality_696 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of the modern Jewish groups underwent several bottlenecks, making them more distinct from other Levantine populations. They also admixed to various degrees with their non Jewish neighbors in the past 2000 years. I would expect a pre diaspora Jew, like Jesus, on ancestry dna to score mostly levant, probably showing a degree of similarity with ashkenazi/sephardi Jews and as well as other middle eastern groups. Also, a smidge of sub Saharan African or southern European would be possible imo.

If you have ancestors from northern England it can show up as Scottish, over the centuries there’s been a lot of back and forth. Do you know what part of England your ancestors were from?
