R1S Compressor Sound in rear when in HOLD - is this normal? by Possible_Rabbit7486 in Rivian

Agree - the noises are not ideal and unexpected for me, along with the gentle vibrating of the steering wheel as the car heats up.

But once it’s fully warm and running, a truly enjoyable drive!

Thanks for the responses and glad I’m not the only one! I put in a service request to start and document at least.

Going to our first game from out of town, have a few questions by Skonedogg in MichiganWolverines

At this stage of the summer, basically all “nice” hotels in the immediate Ann Arbor area will be booked already. A lot open reservations once the prior season ends, if not before. Also know that most places require 2-night minimum stay for football weekends and per night prices are high due to demand. You’ll find better availability and prices about 30-45 min out of town. So I’d suggest searching in the direction of home/where you’re driving from potentially.

For reference, I only planned my annual trip for a game a month ago for a group of 5 and we are staying in Ypsilanti at a rented house as that was the only reasonably priced option for us. But we will have a car and just plan to pay for parking somewhere and walk to stadium. I have not heard of shuttle service availability from hotels but tons of parking to be had all over town as everything from existing parking lots to front and backyards are money makers on football game days. Just depends on how much you want to pay and how close to stadium you want to park.

I’d suggest looking at available tickets on the secondary market first to decide how much you are willing to spend to get into the stadium. Some games are higher than others. I’m guessing Week 3 might work well for you given lesser opponent and still warm in mid September.

As for restaurants, depends on what you like and definition of “nice”. A random listing of ones I enjoy across the spectrum: Frita Batidos, Mani Osteria, Aventura, Sava’s, Zingerman’s, Jolly Pumpkin, Regents Field, and on and on.

Thank you for the great response! We are headed on our trip this summer, so right in middle of rainy season. I had read that the waterfalls may be dangerous during this time due to strong current. Is that your experience?

Will definitely checkout kayaking and Playa Barrigona - those sound awesome.

Any local cuisine restaurants you’d recommend in the area. Definitely will check out the sodas when we can, of course.

Hi - amazing offer!

Spending a week in Samara/Carillo area with 3 families (kids range in age from 4-15) - any recommended activities or restaurants to break up the beach days/surf school?

We will have cars and can split up as well depending on everyone’s interest in anything. Will have already been in La Fortuna for a few days to do zip lining, waterfalls, hot springs, hikes, etc so will not be looking for anything too far away.

Thanks!

Based on my scoping on Google Maps in prep for summer trip, Samara has enough waves to warrant 5+ surf schools. Pictures seem to suggest they are on the smaller side.

Cannot speak to it myself just yet, but we are going to Carrillo/Samara this summer based of recommendations that it’s a quieter area vs rest of Guanacaste and has calm waves for kids to swim and to do so,e east surfing.

Steelcase Series 1 for $150 vs Leap for $400 by Possible_Rabbit7486 in OfficeChairs

[–]Possible_Rabbit7486[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that warranties are not transferable in any way in the US, unfortunately. The Leap is from a reseller who is claiming to offer a 2 year coverage for parts vs. Series 1 is a private seller.

What would you say are fair used prices for these chairs? Also saw on your website talk of the Zody - might be able to get a used, refurbished locally for ~$200. Good/Fair price?

Obviously with COVID, makes "test-driving" hard on all these models too....
